Kerry Collins knew he had had a good game against the Colts on Sunday. He was 23-for-29 for 366 yards and four touchdowns, the Giants earned a 44-27 win, and he was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, making him the first Giant in the award's 19-year history to win it twice in one season.

What confused him was the news that he had had a statistically "perfect" game, meaning a passer rating of 158.3, making him the first Giant to achieve that since Fran Tarkenton on Oct. 25, 1970.

The quirky "perfect" game was one of a blizzard of positive statistics Collins has generated during the past four games. He has thrown for 1,051 yards and eight touchdowns with no interceptions and compiled a rating of 110.2.

Here are some of the highlights:

Collins has not thrown an interception in 126 passes, a career-best streak.

He has thrown for 3,817 yards, his career high. It is the third-highest total in team history and 227 short of Phil Simms' 1984 team record.

After fumbling a league-record 23 times in 2001, Collins has five fumbles this season, thanks in part to new center Chris Bober's reliable snaps.

Collins on Sunday became the first Giant to throw four TD passes in a regular-season game since Simms against the Eagles on Sept. 2, 1984.

This is not related to his recent play, but it is timely: His 218 passes with no interceptions in seven regular-season games against the Eagles is the NFL record for passes against an opponent with no interceptions.
