ABOUT RAISING HEATHENS

A WORK IN PROGRESS

Children are never too young to begin learning of the Olde Ways of our ancestors. They gather knowledge from watching their elders much like the migrant farm worker of today harvests the fields- quite rapidly and fluently subtle.
It is our intent to provide some basics for those who are seeking information about bringing children up in this Age and teaching them of our religion. For they need to be taught else they will naturally go somewhere's else and possibly stumble.
Rest assured, we do have some sort of clue about this subject, for we have the wisdom of not only raising heathens, but of being raised as heathens by our own elder kith and kin. So, without further ado, here are the topics:

1.   DISCIPLINE:
why and why not, and suggestions.
keep anger in check; no discipline means problem childe; continuous discipline provides boundries; counting works wonders; priveledges instilled and revoked; things are new to them which are known givens for usdults; public repremands; instill values; learning through observation and example.

2.   HOME SCHOOLING:
instead of and after public schools.
stories and tales; real and pretending; hard lessons learned easy; comparison of myth and reality; constant repetative teaching; movies and discussion; consider age and emotions; the subtle approach; bodily functions.

3.   SOCIAL INTERACTION:
   : family, friends and strangers.
open communication; tones of voice; right place and time; activties and projects; proper responses; Power over, under and with; social acceptance and ettiqutte; exercise values instilled; cultural differences.

4.   HONOUR THROUGH ACTIONS:
    daily devotions and remembrances.
observing holy days; partaking in rites and rituals; creation of workings; compiling own LOREbok; prayer and meditation; sacred actions; communing with divinity; symbolisms and concepts; Coming of Age for girls; Coming of Age for boys.

5.   REGARDING DEATH and DYING:
    being straightforward from the heart.
how to inform, accept, morn and release.
