Okay I don't know what you will think of this idea but I thought I might as well do it. I've been reading heaps of other fanfic's related to other TV shows and it's given me an idea to write something like a series - meaning the next few fanfic I write will somehow connect to each other. The one before this is 'The Shed Disturbance' I would love to know what you think so email me at pmcja32@vicnet.net.au

It had been a month since Clancy had caught Maggie and PJ together - kissing. Maggie and PJ couldn't be happier, and everyone at the Mt. Thomas station and their friend Chris was pleased for them. Maggie had just been over-protective of her fear of being spilt up from PJ.

Both Maggie and PJ tried to get their relationship at work professional but this was proven a hard task at times but no one cared. Everyone loved to tease then if they found them kissing in the locker room, or the kitchen, C.I office, toliet and even the cells.

Since there relationship as out in the open they both had shared secrets about the past. They didn't exactly share secrets but PJ told Maggie about most of his past, as did Maggie to PJ. They spoke about everything from their favourite colours, foods, past boyfriends and girlfriends to their parents. Maggie told PJ about her mother's death and PJ told Maggie about his father's. PJ only had one thing to tell PJ but he was not sure how to - would she still fell the same about him if he told her?

PJ wanted to tell Maggie but he didn't know how to approach her - it was a topic he didn't like speaking about. Was he meant to blurt out to her, "There's only one thing I didn't mention, I'm adopted". He was sure she would be supportive but he still worried. Would she think any lease of him?

PJ and Maggie were both at Maggie's house alone one night as Dash was at one of her brothers places - it was Macca's, her nieces birthday. PJ felt like this was the right moment to tell her. They had finished their food, which PJ had cooked himself - successfully. Maggie and PJ were now on the floor of the lounge room, taking the occasional sips of their glass of wine, like looking into each other’s eyes.

"Maggie" PJ began, "There's one thing I haven't told you" "And what's that detective?" Maggie asked, sitting up "I don't know how to tell you this?" "Tell me what" "You promise you won't treat or look at me differently" "Well as long as your not having an affair with Chris, or Dash, or Sally Downie or any woman I doubt I will" "Yuck" PJ said, "Sally Downie!" "Yeah" Maggie laughed "Well as I was saying , this is hard for me" "Come on PJ" Maggie said "Okay" PJ said, "I'm adopted"

At first Maggie was taken back - why would PJ think she would think any less of him because of this. He was still the same man she has grown to love. As these thoughts raced to her head, PJ laid back flat down on the floor. He wasn't sure what Maggie was thinking. Maggie then moved one of her hands on the other side of PJ and turned and faced him.

"Why would you think I'd think any less of you because your adopted?" "I don't know" PJ shrugged "Well I don't" "Really?" "Why is there any need PJ - you are still that man I know and love" "You know what constable Doyle?" "What Detective?" "I love you" "And I do too!"

Maggie lent down and starting kissing PJ. Before they knew it they were moving towards Maggie's bedroom - knocking things over from tables and shelves on their way.

The next morning Maggie and PJ awoke just after 8 am. Maggie went to have a shower after she directed PJ to go and organise breakfast. He walked into the kitchen wearing only his boxers. When he went to boil some water for some coffee and he searched within all the cupboards looking for Maggie's toaster and some bread.

"Next one along" Maggie laughed, entering the kitchen "Yeah" "How was your shower?" "Good" "Would have been better with me with you" PJ joked "PJ" "Okay - I'll shut up now"

Within a few minutes PJ had served Maggie her breakfast. It was very simple - just some toast with some jam on top. PJ took great pride in feeding it to her, letting droplets of jam drop on her chin so he could clean it up - leading to yet another kiss. They both were very embarrassed when Dash walked in them.

"Geez you guys" Dash complained "What?" Maggie asked "Don't worry" "How was the party" Maggie asked "Fun but I'll give you the glory details later - continue" “Dash!”

That day at the station Maggie and PJ were called to the Imperial. Some of the belongings of some of the guests had gone missing so the guest, Tony O'Leary had rang the station. Chris was convinced that he had just forgot where he put them as she had got himself drunk two night in a row - last night, and the night before that. Maggie and PJ also decided that this was the most likely reason. While they were they picked up the lunches.

When they arrived back at the station Maggie and PJ went to the C.I office as ussual, Dash stayed at her desk with Adam and Nick filling them in on the party and that morning. Tom was in his office.

“So do you know who you real parents are?” “Yeah” PJ said, looking at his feet “Sorry, I shouldn’t of asked” “No, Maggie – you should know you want to go for a walk?” “If your sure” “Yep”

Maggie and PJ came out of the C.I office which had also grown into Maggie’s as half the desk was piled with her paper work. On their way out PJ collected both their jacks which were hanging behind the door. Meanwhile Maggie told Tom that they were going on a walk and would be back soon.

“My parents were about 14 or 15 when they had me – that is my real biological parents. I was 2 months old when my mum and dad adopted me – mum was 29 and dad was 35. My real mum’s name was Sally, is Sally and my dad’s is Joseph – Last time I cheeked they were alive. Mum knew there names when she got me, and I guess she made sure I also knew. Joseph parents didn’t want Sally to keep me and convinced Sally parents they shouldn’t either. Lucky for them both my parents agreed so they put me up for adoption in Melbourne. The proper steps were taken and I got my parents – Mum and Dad” “And you think of them as your real ones?” “Sure – there the ones who have raised me, and love me” “When did you find out, that you know” “I’ve known all along – I don’t know since when and I don’t know how or when they told me – I can’t remember” “Have you met them?” “My real parents – nah – but I look them up sometimes, make sure there still there. I’d like to met them in one way, but wouldn’t in another. It’s hard, and mum - I don’t want to hurt her” “Do you know where they are now?” “Well Joseph, his in Perth – serving time in jail for rape” “Sorry” “Why?” PJ asked, “As for Sally, this is the funny thing lives on the same block as my mum. I’ve seen her on the street when I visit mum. She’s got 2 kids of her own now, James – 14 and Margaret who is 10” “Nice name” “Yeah – but anyway that just about all I know” “Does she know it’s you when you seen her?” “No – I’ve never spoken to her or her kids.” “How about your mum?” “Nah – I haven’t told her”

Maggie and PJ then turned around and walked back to the station. They didn’t notice so much time had gone by – it was nearly 2 O’Clock and that had left just after 12, midday.

“Where have you too been?” “Sorry Boss” Maggie said “I had to speak to Maggie” “Whatever – just don’t make a habit of it – your lucky nothing has happened” “Sorry”

That night PJ joined Maggie and Dash for dinner at their house. They then planed to go to the Imperial but Maggie suggested that she and PJ might stay home. Dash agreed and took Maggie's car leaving them alone.

Both Maggie and PJ continued the conversation they had at lunch. Maggie wasn't truly convinced that PJ didn't want to met his real mother, and even father. She knew if she was in his position she would be curious. Towards the end of the night PJ finally admitted that he did want to met his biological mother, but not his real father - at least not yet. He also told Maggie that he would only go though with this if his mother said it was okay and that she, Maggie came with him.

Within the next week PJ kept changing his mind - making many excuses up so that he wouldn't have to go though with it but Maggie was very supportive. As Maggie knew one of PJ's problems had withh meting his real mum was that PJ wasn't sure how Mrs. Hasham was going to take it so she decided that PJ better get that part of it over first. She discussed this with PJ and PJ agreed.

The following weekend both PJ and Maggie travelled done to PJ's mother's place. PJ's mum was surprised to see as PJ hadn't told her that they were coming up. Maggie had met PJ's mother once before on the way to Hamilton Island as Maggie and PJ had some time to kill before there plane was to leave.

Mrs. Hasham made 3 cups of coffee and got some biscuits out of the kitchen for them all. They all then sat in her lounge room and talked for a while.

"So how are you Mum?" PJ asked "Good dear - what brings you up here?" "Can't I come and visit my mum?" PJ asked, sarcastically "Your welcome too but you don't seem 'your self'"

Maggie gave PJ a look when his mother said this. It would be the perfect time to start the conversation he had been dreading.

"Well your right mum" "Why is that?" "Maggie and I, no, well I've told Maggie that well I was adopted" "Yes" "And we've been speaking about it a lot lately" PJ began, "And I've found out where my biological mother, and even father lives and if you wouldn't mind, I'd like to ….. " "You want to met them?" "Well my mother only" "Why are you asking me? It's your life" "I don't know mum, I don't want to hurt your feelings or anything" "Why would you Patrick? I knew this day would come one day - I just thought sooner" "So you don't mind?" "Of course not dear, your father and I knew this would happen - do you know where she is?" "Yeah" "Well how are you going to contact her?" "I'm not sure, I'll figure something out" "Can I suggest something?" "Sure mum, go a head" "Well if I was your real mum, which in a way I am, but if I was in Sally's position I wouldn't want you knocking on my door, write her a letter - see what she wants"

The rest of the day went smoothly. PJ soon found out that his adoptive mother knew where her real mother was - though she had never spoken to her she just knew. Though the day PJ took Maggie on a walk around his mother's neighbourhood and pointed out the house where his real mother lives. Out side the house was 2 children playing, PJ's half brother and half sister.

That night PJ's mother had to go out to tea with some of her friends which she had had planed for some time. This gave PJ some time to write the letter to his real mum. He really wasn't sure what to write, he asked Maggie for her help but Maggie said it would be better if the letter was completely from him.

The letter included some information about PJ. What his parents names were, and that his father had died. PJ wrote about his childhood and where he grew up and wrote about his work. This lead to writing about Maggie and this went on for some time. He said that he wanted to meet her but would understand if she didn't want to. He asked to reply though a letter and he wrote the address of the Mt. Thomas Station. He signed it Patrick Joseph Hasham.

The following day Maggie and PJ had to return to Mt. Thomas. On their way back they stopped at a post office, bought a stamp and posted the latter.

Another week went by and PJ hadn't received anything from his biological mother. He and Maggie were in the C.I office when Nick knocked on the door and entered.

"There's a letter for you here mate" Nick said "Thanks"

PJ took the letter in his hand, and Maggie waited anziouly wanting to know who it was from, and what it said. PJ read it, word for word very slowly. It went on for many pages.

"So who's is from PJ?" Maggie asked "My mother"
