GROWING IN CHRIST

Joy! As soon as you accept Christ as your Lord and Savior, your life will change. You will have a peace you've never known before. You're a new person in Christ, however there are steps you need to take to grown in your new identity.

Meditate On God's Word (Bible)

1 Peter 2:2 You must crave pure spiritual milk so that you can grow into the fullness of your salvation. Cry out for this nourishment as a baby cries for milk, now that you have had a taste of the Lord's kindness.

Fellowship With Mature Christians

Surround yourself with other Christians. They will help encourage and teach you in the way of Christ. You have a new family in Christ, Brothers and Sisters who have walked in the same steps as you. Acts 18:23 After spending some time in Antioch, Paul went back to Galatia and Phrygia, visiting all the believers, encouraging them and helping them to grow in the Lord.

Help Each Other Grow In Christ

We are all a part of the Body of Christ. Not one part will work without the other. Imagine your hand. If you were missing your thumb, it would be very difficult to pick up things. The same is for the Body of Christ, we are all aprt of God's plan and we all need to work together for the good of God. Ephesians 4:11-16 He is the one who gave these gifts to the church: the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God's people to do His work and build up the church, the body of Christ, until we come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God's Son that we will be mature and full grown in the Lord, measuring up to the full stature of Christ. Then we will no longer be like children, forever changing our minds about what we believe because someone has told us something different or because someone has cleverly lied to us and made the lie sound like the truth. Instead we will hold to the truth in love, becoming more and more in every way like Christ, who is the head of the body, the church. Under his direction, the whole body is fitted together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is health and growing and full of love.

Attending Church Services

We should all attend church regularly. It's not because we're afraid God will remove his hand from us, it's because we are all encouraged by the love of others and thru worshiping our Lord and Savior. Heb 10:25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.Eph 5:19 You will sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs amoung yourselves, making music to the Lord in your hearts.

Pray For Yourself And Others

Pray for yourself and others. God hears the prayers of the righteous. Where does our comfort come from? Our Lord and Saviour. Eph 1:16 I have never stopped thanking Fod for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God, the florious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the wonderful future he has promised to those he called. I want you to realize what a rich and glorious inheritance he has given to his people.

How exciting!
God has a Glorious Inheritance for each of us. My goal is to grow in Christ more each day and look forwrd to the day when I will be in the loving arms of my Abba Father.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Phil 4:13
