From classic Hollywood trash, to the movies that make me laugh everytime, to the movies that made me look at the world in a different way, movies have always been an important part of my sanity, er ... life. With a collection ranging somewhere in the couple-hundred or so, I've got lots to choose from when I want something to watch. Below is a small piece of the list of films that I can't get enough of.

Comedy | Coming-of-Age | Drama | Action

Comedy

Dazed and Confused: More than just a string of jokes, this one keeps me laughing from start to finish. Remember everyone, "Eat more possum."

Swingers: "You're a big bear man," has got to be the best line from this movie. While the plot is simple enough, there's some underlying messages about breaking up, and more great lines than I could ever quote here.

Notting Hill: An awesome cast and a great love story combine here to make a romantic movie that still keeps me in stitches. With characters like Will and his flatmate Spike, they laughs just keep coming!

Airplane! (and Airplane II!): A satire on par with any other, not to mention the best Saturday Night Fever inspired dance scene ever made! "Stayin alive, stayin alive..." come on, you know the words!

Top Secret: A long lost classic staring Val Kilmer as an American rock hero sent to Germany on a diplomatic favor. Great soundtrack with songs like "Skeet Surfin" and "Shaking the Rug."

Coming-of-Age Flicks

Stand By Me: Without question, the best movie of this type I've ever seen. Four boys set off on a journey to find a dead body and discover how close their friendship really is along the way. A classic film for sure, based on a Stephen King novella.

Dazed and Confused (again): While keeping me laughing really hard this movie follows a bunch of high school seniors on the last day of school, the decisions they face, and how each of them looks at the life ahead of them. A great film on many facets.

Russkies: When four boys find a Russian sailor stranded at their beach hideout, the struggle with deciding what to do with him. Do they turn him in? Kill him? Or see through to the human inside and do the right thing? Whats the right thing you ask? Guess you'll have to watch it!

Dead Poets Society: Starring the incredible Robin Williams, this film follows the story of a class at the elite "Welton Academy," an all boy's school in New England somewhere. From the class clown to the class actor, this one's got it all. A very powerful movie, while at the same time, full of traditional William's humor.

Drama

Murder In The First: Christian Slater and Kevin Bacon star in the true story of the case that brought down Alcatraz. Some very strong moments in the movie that provide a glimpse into the mind of a man stuck in solitary confinement for a really long time.

The Shawshank Redemption: Again, an all star cast makes this one for the record books. The story of a man in prison for a crime he swears he didn't commit and his struggle for freedom.

Ghosts Of Mississippi
: A cinematic adaptation of the story of Medgar Wylie Evers (spelling?), a leader for the civil rights movement, gunned down leaving a wife and children. While the whole story can't be told by a movie, this is a really good story of a great man.

Action

Gone In 60 Seconds: Fast based Bruckheimer thriller about a few car theives with just one night to pull off a major heist. Good blend of comedy and non-stop action.

The Rock: Another from Bruckheimer about an ex-con and a FBI chemist that must break INTO Alcatraz if they want to save San Francisco from a biological-warfare attack by rogue Marines.

U.S. Marshals
: A great selection from the "Bargin DVD" rack. Sam Gerard from "The Fugitive" has to track down an accused murderer (Wesley Snipes). This flick follows the man hunt, and you know what they say about the Marshals, they always get their man.
