Our Cats

Hi ... I'm Suzie Lis

I am Kira's and Tom's cat girl and I am 17 years old. I used to belong to Guinness, but he died. I was sad, but Kira and Tom love me and take good care of me.

Probably the most interesting thing about me is the "Ghost" that is on my back. If you look down on me, I have this great looking white marking that looks like a ghost.

I am a rather shy cat. I am sweet and loving and in my old age, I don't mind visitors all that much. I love to sit in the sun or cuddle in a blanket that we call my nest. My current favorite spot to sit in on my dad's favorite chair, either with him or by myself.

I am used to be very slender, but as I have gotten older, well ... I don't watch my weight that carefully. I love to sleep under the blankets in bed and in the linen closet. I also like to leap and jump. Sometimes Dad will throw a shiny penny into the air and I leap up and catch it and bat it back to Dad.

I have this "brother" named SaMmy. He's 14 years old. We aren't really the best of friends. When he is resting in bed, I sometimes groom him, but he doesn't groom me back.

SaMmy loves our dad, Tom. SaMmy is always following Dad around and you can find him cuddling with him when Dad is ready to go to sleep for the night.

SaMmy and I like to play outside in our back yard. I like to eat grass and sit in the sun. SaMmy loves to smush his face into the catnip and play with Dad. Dad takes us outside on the weekends for a 10 minutes or so. If there is a loud noise, SaMmy runs back inside.

SaMmy died on February 13, 2009 at age 14 years and 8 months. Suzie died later the same year on October 9, 2009 at age 18 years and 6 months. Both have left their mark on our hearts.

There are now 2 new cats in the Lis household. Percy is an orange tabby born March 2009 and Sheena is all black with green eyes born June 2009. They were adopted from Small Miracles Cat Rescue in Ellicott City MD.
