Courteney Cox Arquette Biography

Courteney Cox Arquette is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. She moved to New York City when she graduated from high school. There, she was accepted into a modelling school. Shortly after that Courteney, who was the cover girl for People magazine's 50 most beautiful people, was appearing in commercials for magazines and television.

She made her acting debut in 1984 on the daytime soap "As The World Turns." She actually got her first big break when director Brian DePalma cast her to be the young fan that Bruce Springsteen pulls out of the crowd for the music video "Dancing in the Dark."

Before "Friends", her most remembered role on television was that of Lauren on "Family Ties." She has guest-starred on many shows including "Seinfeld," "Murder She Wrote," "Dream On," and "The Larry Sanders Show."
Her big-screen credits include "Scream" and the sequel "Scream 2". Cox also starred opposite Jim Carrey in the hit comedy "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective." Other credits include "Down Twisted," "Commandments," "Mr. Destiny," "Masters of the Universe," "Shaking the Tree," "Cocoon: The Return," and "Blue Desert." She has also starred on stage with Michael Spound in "King of Hearts." Her latest movie, Scream 3 is now playing. She also recently starred in "The Runner" which is now on video and the upcoming "The Shrink is In."
Courteney recently married fellow Scream actor David Arquette. Courteney Cox currently resides in Los Angeles and enjoys remodelling and decorating homes with her spare time. Her birthday is June 15.
