Matt LeBlanc Biography

After getting his first motorcycle when he was eight, Matt LeBlanc participated in different amateur competitions with the hope of becoming a pro-racer. Later his mother forced him to find a different job to use his talents. He was trained for a career in carpentry but steered in the acting direction instead.

When he graduated from high school he chose to move to New York City. By 1987 he had parts on national television commercials for products like Levi's 501 jeans, Coca-Cola, and Doritos. He also was in a Heinz commercial that won him the wonderful Gold Lion Award at the 1987 Cannes Film Festival.

LeBlanc started formal acting training in 1988. In a year he landed a role on the series "TV 101" and moved to Los Angeles. Since then he has had several TV credits including "Vinnie & Bobby," "Top of Head," and was in the movie "Anything to Survive."

He made his film debut in "Ed" which is a family comedy co-starring a monkey. His most recent movie is a remake of the 60s TV show "Lost In Space." He is currently looking through scripts to find a good movie role.

Matt LeBlanc lives in Los Angeles. He is dating American model Melissa McKnight. The couple recently called off their engagement because they decided they weren't ready. His birthday is July 25.
