                          THE INSTITUTION

KONKAN GYANPEETH'S COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING , KARJAT, (AFFLIATED TO THE
BOMBAY UNIVERSITY) was established in the year 1994 with a small
number of students and a few dedicated teachers, under the most able
guidance of  Mr. DHARKAR, the Hon. Founder. Under their direction
and perseverance the college began to grow in leaps and bounds, to 
the delight of all the surrounding area.It has now grown into a 
national institution with an international perspective.Eventhough 
being young entrant to engineering education in early 1990's, the 
college has earned an international reputation in terms of  latest 
state of  the art technology and hands on experience in the field of 
engineering and material science.

K.G.CoE. can be termed to be the only few of the hitech institutions 
in South East Asia that has been accrediated as world class centre of
excellence for its unique feature of being a landmark in its area, as 
there is no other institution, in the vicinity of its kind that caters
to the need of the rural people, enhancing the  possibility of a 
bright future for them. 

Education is as continuous process by which a generation is prepared 
for the future by providing as many opportunities as possible to 
develop every aspect of the personality, in order to sustain the 
time-tested institutions which maintains law, order and harmony in the
world and in the universe.It is the endeavour of the college to make 
education a  purposeful, meaningful and enjoyable experience.

                              LOCATION

K.G.CoE. is a multistoried complex situated at an exquisite part of 
Karjat, overlooking the famous Khandala &  Lonavala hill-station and 
surrounded by the luxurious and lush greenery of Konkan, the green 
belt to the West of India.It has a vast campus with facilities which 
are exceptionally good for the all-around development of students, and 
maintains a very high standard in terms of quality , modernity and 
discipline.

  
                            LIABRARY
 
The college has excellent library facilities with an array of books ,
and it subscribes many periodicals and magazines.


                             HOSTEL

The college campus also includes the magnificant Hostel building with 
its cosy, comfortable and airy rooms with nature pouring out its 
beauty all around. The surrounding is very quite & calm thereby 
providing an ideal atmosphere for concentrating in the studies. The 
close proximity of the hostel building to the main college building 
provides an easy and quick access to the study material required & 
thus rewarding a healthy study environment for its inmates. Since the 
study aspect goes smooth only with proper basic facilities of food and
entertainment , the college has stressed even on this part of the 
students life. It has equipped its hostel with the latest 
entertainment accessories ranging from books, magazines, television to 
games both indoor & outdoor. Even beyond this, the college is looking 
forward to install the latest trends of IT, the Internet connection 
very soon.


                      GENERAL INFORMATION

ŞCanteen :

The food places in India can be looked upon as the ideal places 
representing the "Unity in Diversity" in the real sense. The canteen 
of the college is no exception to this statement. Unlike the huge 
college building , there is a small but excellent canteen, catering a 
variety of dishes satisfying the food habits of the people coming 
almost from all parts of the world. The unique feature of the canteen 
is that inspite of its isolation from the main town it has maintained 
its own high standard & ability to provide most metropolis accessories.


ŞCo-curricular activities:

The college offers a wide  range of opportunities for co-curricular 
activities and the students are exposed to many an activity to choose
from. The college has a spacious ground for all the outdoor games, 
volleyball, cricket, basket ball, tennis and throw ball.
			   Every year, most probably in the month of 
February the college gathers its annual function named 'Spring Fiesta'.
It is filled with enthusiastic programs and its all just fun and 
enjoyment during the festival. The college also receives invitations 
to attend the annual functions of other colleges.


                             ACCESS

K.G.CoE. is situated at a scenic, picturesque location of Konkan, the 
green belt of West India, admist surrounded by the fabulous, eye 
soothing  natural beauty, at a hitech village  named 'Karjat'. It is 
about 100 kms from the international city 'Mumbai' to which it is well
connected by road and rail. There are direct local trains running on 
the Central Railway line right from Mumbai C.S.T to Karjat all day 
long at suitable time intervals. It also falls in the route of Mumbai-
Khopoli locals. From Karjat station students can avail of the bus 
facility provided by the college at reasonable rates, since the 
college is at about 15 minutes drive from Karjat station.There are 
plenty of  picnic-spots in areas around the college with the most 
well-known hill-stations such as Khandala & Matheran at just an hour's
distance from the college. The rainy season is an ideal one for picnic
in this place because of the scores of mind boggling waterfalls 
running down the hills around the place.


                        ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Thanks to the Centralised Admission Procedure which has made the 
process so transparent and flawless.
Eligibility: The candidate must have passed 10+(2) pattern examination 
with atleast 50% marks.
Procedure: A single form for all the colleges in Maharashtra is 
available at selected outlets, such as the Bombay University(Kalina),
V.J.T.I(Matunga). The candidates aspiring to seek admission in the 
K.G.CoE, Karjat should mention it in the form along with the code and
other requirements as directed by the 'Admission Brochure' provided 
along with the form.
Fees: The fees for the year in which the candidate seeks admission is
mentioned in the 'admission Brochure' which remains the same for the 
entire degree course of the candidate.
*** The admission is confirmed at the venue selected by the 
Maharashtra Government for distribution and collection of admission 
forms, while the fees will be accepted in the college office where 
the admission is granted to the candidate.
