We have new kittens!
June 2002: we have kittens! Here is what we have:
More litters are expected so please email for more details!
Our babies can't leave home until they are at least 12 weeks old and have their kitten vaccine.
My vet, Dr Maizel, now gives the new Heska intranasal vaccines. Please visit the site for more info. Basically, the series of kitten calcivirus injections is now replaced by a nose & eye drop and needs no booster for one year. It is a modified live vaccine causing the kitten to produce the necessary antibodies required to build an immunity to 'cat flu.' The kitten may sneeze for about a week and have slight watery eyes. This is normal.
With an injection, there is always the possibility of the development of a sarcoma, or lump,
which can turn cancerous. The new oral vaccine replaces the entire kitten series of injections
and is administered at 11 weeks. We guarantee them to be healthy and free from
parasites.
