~Dean News~

January 25th 2003
As of the 6th of January, the sixth and FINAL season of Oz has been airing on HBO. ;_; We will all miss you, Oz!

Also, the complete second season of Oz is now available on DVD as well as video! Yay!

Another bit of exciting Oz-related info...an Oz BOOK is now available! Yes, a BOOK! Finally! I have been waiting for one to come out for like four years now. It's about time! I'm not sure of the exact title, but I think it's kind of like a companion book. I don't know which book stores carry it, I have yet to see it anywhere with my own eyes. I only heard about it from a breif blurb in a magazine I read somewhere. Err...I'll post more info when I get more. I have to find this book!

Well, first things first, and I should have mentioned this a long time ago...Showcase is now airing season 5 of Oz. The first episode of season 5 was aired last Friday and the second one was eariler tonight.

Second, I recieved a rather intersting e-mail from someone claiming to be from NBC. There is some VERY interesting news that she wanted me to post, so I will copy and paste it here:

"Dean Winters is headed to Last Call with Carson Daly on September 12th. The show tapes Friday evening at 30 Rockefeller Center. Tickets are free but on a first come first serve basis so email now to reserve your priority seating. Our ticket email is lastcallaudience@nbc.com. Please put "DEAN WINTERS" in the subject heading, give us your full name, phone number and number of tickets you need to reserve. We will follow up with a confirmation email. You must be at least 16 years of age to be in our audience. Thanks and we look forward to seeing you at the show!"

Cool, huh? I guess you lucky New Yorkers will get to go...man, I would LOVE to go! :( And it's at Rockefeller Plaza, too...I love it there! ;_; *is sooo jealous*

Okay, so this isn't REALLY news, because it happened in 2000. This is the first time I heard of it though, and I never reported it on my website, so it's news to me and up it goes. According to some Ask Jeeves thingy that I came across by mistake, Dean Winters participated in Challenge for the Children's second celebrity basketball tournament. It then shows a picture of what seems to be like some kind of holding hands logo, and it's clearly signed by Dean Winters. It appears to have been on an auction at one point. I'll certainly post more info if I find any. Here are some related links I found:

The Ask Jeeves link is toooooooo long to post, for whatever reason. Don't believe me? Want to go there? Click here for the link. LONG, eh? ;-)

This is kind of old news by now, but Dean Winters was in the music video "Bonny and Shyne" by Shyne. Also, according to the IMDB, he is going to star in the new Hellraiser movie.

Season 4, part II of Oz ended on HBO on February 25, 2001. Season 5 of Oz should be in the works soon...
