To my dad in heaven so far away

How I miss you each and everyday

How I long for your gentle touch

Oh Dad I miss you so very much

I remember all the good times we shared

How much you loved me and cared

When you use to put me on your knee

You would sing a funny song to me

You taught me right from wrong

You always told me to be strong

Well through the years together

You were my shelter from stormy weather

As I was growing up getting older

And the world was getting colder

You were my hero my soldier

I could always cry on your shoulder

I married and you walked me down the isle

You hugged me and gave me a great big smile

Afterwards the band played Daddy's Little Girl

We danced and you sang it to me word for word

Every word is now a sweet memory

Whenever I hear that song even today

I think of you in a tearful way

Two months later you were taken away in May

You were the best daddy to me

And you loved mom so dearly

You were the best pop pop of all time

I was so blessed daddy you were mine

If you were still here with me today

Then it would be a happy father's day

But you're in heaven so far away

And you're no longer here to make my life ok

And all the fun times we had on Father's day

You will always be remembered in a loving way

And daddy although you've left this world

I will always be daddy's little girl

Oh Daddy If you were still here

I'd award you for the best dad of every year

I would give you the biggest hug and kiss

And say I hope this father's day's your happiest
