To make the one you see here, open a new selection 100 by 100 pixels. Choose two colors, one lighter than the other in the same color category. Use the flood fill tool and fill the selection using a 180 degree gradient. Use the selection tool and select a small square and convert it to a seamless background. Save it as a gif file.
