Confined at Point Lookout, Maryland until paroled and transferred to Aiken's Landing, James River, Virginia, where he was received March 16, 1865, for exchange. Hospitalized at Richmond on March 19, 1865, with scorbutus and was furloughed for thirty days on March 23, 1865.

Returned to duty prior to September 1, 1864. Promoted to Corporal subsequent to October 31, 1864. Deserted to the enemy on or about February 20, 1865. Confined at Washington, D. C., until released on or about February 24, 1865, after taking the Oath of Allegiance.

Confined at Washington D.C., until released on or about February 24, 1865, after taking the Oath of Allegiance.
