According to Ken's book Thomas of 1760 was the son of Thomas Durham and Margaret "Peggy"Lindsey.
I suppose this is possible, but the dates I have for their ages would make them 64 and 50 when he was born.
I feel he is their grandson.

Thomas was a POW at Camp Douglas during the Civil War
He died there of Smallpox on Nov. 26 1864. Burial at Oakwood Cemetery, Chicago, Ill . His name is one of the many inscribed on a Confederate Monument at the Confederate Mound site.

Mattie was principal of Howard Jr High School and director of the Upper Room Fellowship in Nashville.
She had in her possession 26 letters her grandfather Thomas had written to his family during his captivity at Camp Douglas, Ill. She (after death) donated the letters to the Tennessee Historical Society . They are now stored at the Tennessee Archives. Thanks to her efforts copies of these letters are now a part of the Durham family genealogy data.
