Lee Lancer Coaching Staff
 Matt Schilling        Head Coach Swimming and Diving
      We are fortunate to have Matt Schilling joining as Lee's swim and dive co-head coach. Matt is looking forward to returning to high school swimming after spending last winter as an Age Group Coach for the USS Fort Belvior Sharks. Coach Schilling coached NVSL Division IV Mansion House swim team  this summer. Mr. Schilling coached at "high school" in "New England" before joining the Lee faculty in the fall of 1997. Prior to coaching Matt competed for "college" all four years and before that as a USS  swimmer in New England. This will be Mr. Schilling's second year teaching at Robert E. Lee High School.

 Jeff Firman            Assistant Coach Swimming and Diving
     A great team needs a great coach and we are fortunate to have Jeff Firman returning for a 4th year as a Lee's swim and dive coach. Under Coach Firman's direction the Lancer Men finished tied for second in the dual meet season and third in the Liberty District Championship. The Lancer women finished fifth in the dual meet season and sixth in the Liberty District Championship. Coach Firman returns to coach Springfield Bath and Racket club in the NVSL for this eleventh summer as head coach. Prior to becoming head coach he competed for ten years as both an NVSL swimmer and diver. Mr. Firman has taught 5th grade at Hollin Meadows elementary for four years.

Parent Volunteers Needed
     Adult volunteers are  needed to serve as meet officials,  lane timers, and to help the captains organize team activities and events.
     The Virginia High School League will conduct officials training on November 30, 1998 at Oakton High School. Officiating Clinic will begin at 7:00 p.m. If you wish to become a certified High School official bring a check to pay for your rule book, insurance and association membership.
