Fairfax's Dempsey
  wins Liberty

     Caitlin Dempsey paced Fairfax's girl harriers to a fourth-place finish at last week's Liberty District Meet in Burke Lake Park.
     Lee's girls finished sixth out of eight teams, led by Megan Broch (sixth, 19:28), Kelsey Wright (28th, 20:52), Tesia Lewis (29th, 20:54), Erin Post (39th, 21:35) and Eva Zamora (40th, 21:41).
     In the boys race, Lee also finished sixth, as Marshall won the team title. For the Lancers, Brian Ward (ninth, 16:41), Ryan Fitzsimmons (18th, 17:00), Justin Davis (20th, 17:01), Alpha Kiflu (34th, 17:36) and William Swift (37th, 17:52) rounded out the scoring.

Ten Mile Relay

Boys finishes 18 out of 56 teams

     Lancer XCC run in the George Mason/Adidas Invitational held Saturday, September 19, 1998, at Bull Run Regional Park. Each team consistend of five (5) individuals who ran two miles legs of the 10 mile relay.
     Fifty-six public and private school cross country teams from the Washington metropolian area participated. In the Boys race, Langley placed 7th, while McLean placed 10th.
