Journal of Indian Justice

Welcome to the Journal of Indian Justice, where you'll find information on treaties, legal and governmental resources, historical documents, and current issues. If you are new to Indian Territory and its many concerns, please understand that ultimately, all issues relate back to treaties and treaty law. The validity of Indian tribes as sovereign entities, placed within the protections of treaty laws and obligations, is under serious attack from many directions. One of the most deadly assaults in recent times, staged by Sen. Slade Gorton (R-Washington), is discussed in Termination by Appropriation.
