Materials: Bedspread Weight cotton thread (size 10) or smaller if you
prefer Steel Crochet Hook
Note: This is a basic filet pattern. Start this filet project starting at the bottom and work your way to the top. Good luck! :) Edging (optional) Rnd 1: Ch 1, turn (you will be working across top of last row just completed), sc in same dc as turning, *ch 5, skip 2 dc, sc in next dc, repeat from * to next corner. Ch 5, sc in side of next row (you are now working along "side" of item), ** ch 5, sc in next row, repeat from ** to next corner. Continue in this manner to beg of rnd, join to 1st sc by working: ch 2, dc in beg sc (this brings thread into position for next rnd.) Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in same loop, (ch 3, sc in next lp) all around to beg sc, ch 3; join to beg sc with sl st. At the end of last row, fasten off and lightly press with a little aerosol spray starch. Enjoy! :) You can also stiffen this for making a suncatcher or make several and sew or crochet them together to make a larger item for things such as runners, doilies, chair backs, placemats, etcetera. You might try this with cotton yarn and make it a dishcloth (don't know how large it would come out yet), or use this pattern for an afghan. :) Back to Crochet....Gotta Love It!.
