Celebrating INXS, Commemorating Michael...

It's been a lon-ng time between updates on this website, in fact, I didn't even realise it was still online until just recently! It's now 7 years since I put this site up, and even though my life has changed in huge leaps and bounds (moved interstate, got married, have a gorgeous little girl, and am now doing postgrad study), I still love INXS, and still wish we still had Michael around. So I will leave this site up, both as a tribute to Michael, and as a celebration of one of the best rock bands ever. Hopefully, at some point in the future, I'll have time to add more 'stuff' as well.

Oh, and one last thing! I haven't used the 'girlonfire' email in a long while either, but I've updated my new email address on the bottom, so if you've tried to email me and couldn't - now you can!

Thanks for visiting, and enjoy the memories...
Linda

Back in the 80's I contributed to, edited, and published
an Australian INXS fanzine called 'Underneath The Colours'.
Our fanzine featured all kinds of stuff - reviews, news,
previously unpublished photos, poetry, interviews and more.

The name 'Underneath The Colours' - of course, taken from one
of the bands early LPs - was chosen because of it's ambiguity
and it's reference to perhaps a 'deeper' side of things. We
wanted to explore who INXS were and where they were coming from,
both musically and as individuals; and of course, we wanted to
celebrate the best band in the world!

'Stay Young' was the first INXS record I ever bought.
I was lucky enough to get to meet the band for the first of
what would become many times, in 1985, and eventually
watched them perform from front row at over 20 of their live shows.

Obviously, to me, INXS were the consummate rock band, and Michael,
the consummate rock God. But as I got to know Michael I found him
to be so much more than just 'Michael Hutchence from INXS'. He was
not only talented, but also a very sweet, very wonderful person.

The website of Underneath The Colours features material from
the fanzine of 'Underneath The Colours' - and more.
This website is a salute to the best band of all: INXS.
And my tribute to a charismatic performer and a wonderful
human being: Michael Hutchence. Underneath the Colours is an open
invitation to fans worldwide to celebrate the greatness and
the magic that is INXS.

Thanks for visiting...
