Our Story

I first met Christian in the summer of 1994. He works with my dad and I was going to work with him for the summer before my senior year of high school. I was a very shy 16 year old girl working in a coat factory. I remember the very first time we saw each other. I was walking down the hall of the office across the street and Chris was walking towards me. He said "You must be Wayne's daughter. Hi, I am Chris." I quietly said hi and went upon my business. Chris was 22 years old and I figured that he thought I was just a kid. Plus, I had a boyfriend at the time. For the whole summer, we worked together, saying a few words to each other. And then I went back to school.

The following year my dad came home from work with a card for me. It was a graduation card from Chris. I was touched that he still remembered me. Fast forward to April of 1996. One Sunday, my dad hands me this little piece of paper that had Chris's email address (which i still have today). Chris gave this to him and he thought I might like it. I remember thinking "what do I have to lose?". The very next day at my school, I emailed Chris. The email basically said, "do you remember me?". He replied and we started emailing each other everyday we could. I would tell him all about my problems, especially with a certain ex-boyfriend (the one I had that summer of '94). Right away, I knew that I could tell him anything and he was always there to listen.

My family finally decided to get a computer at home in June of '96!! Since Chris is a computer whiz, my dad asked his help in installing the computer. So Chris came home from work with my dad and spent the night (since they work 50 minutes away). This was the first time we were face-to-face since that summer that we worked together. I was so nervous... wondering if he would like me or not. We had dinner with my parents, and he went to work on the computer. That night, everyone went to bed but I stayed downstairs with him and watched T.V. We stayed up till 4 AM that night just talking. (Although he says now that he did catch me staring at him a few times... oops!!). This was really the first time we felt something stronger for each other... but we both would not admit it. After that night, we started emailing more, since I could access it from home now. We also began chatting and talking on the phone. One night on the phone in July, he asked me how i felt about him. I knew this was my big chance. I blurted out "I like you more than a friend". I felt so stupid!! But he said that he liked me more than a friend too.

That was the true beginning. Then we started to plan when he could come out and have our "first date". It worked out to be August 10, 1996. That was the beginning of a new world for me. He came by train at 8 PM with roses for me. Right when he got off the train, we had our first kiss and it was magical. We kissed all night while we had a very romantic dinner. I still have one of the roses today. This was also the first time we said "I love you". I knew from that moment that he was the one for me. We have been madly in love ever since.

We now see each other every weekend, and talk every night before falling asleep. I always miss him alot during the week and wish I could be with him. But we both agree that the time apart does make our weekends even more amazing.

Christian is simply the greatest thing to ever happen to me. He has changed my life forever. He really is a dream come true. Chris is the most caring, loving, handsome man I have ever known. He has the gentlest of souls and I am so proud that he is mine. I love you Christian! :)
