~YOUR ANGEL~

~Bare foot and dirty, the girl just sat and watched the people go by. She never tried to speak, she never said a word. Many people passed, but never did one person stop. Just so happens the next day I decided to go back to the park, curious if the little girl would still be there.~

~Right in the very spot as she was yesterday she sat perched on high, with the saddest look in her eyes. Today I was to make my own move and walk over to the little girl. As we all know, a park full of strange people is not a place for young children to play alone. As I began walking towards her I could see the back of the little girl's dress indicated a deformity. I figured that was the reason the people just passed by and made no effort to help. As I got closer, the little girl slightly lowered her eyes to avoid my intent stare.~

~I could see the shape of her back more clearly. It was grotesquely shaped in a humped over form. I smiled to let her know it was OK, I was there to help, to talk. I sat down beside her and opened with a simple Hello. The little girl acted shocked and stammered a hi after a long stare into my eyes. I smiled and she shyly smiled back.~

~We talked until darkness fell and the park was completely empty. Everyone was gone and we were alone. I asked the girl why she was so sad. The little girl looked at me and with a sad face said "Because I'm different," I immediately said "that you are!" and smiled. The little girl acted even sadder, she said, "I know."~

~"Little girl," I said, "you remind me of an angel, sweet and innocent." She looked at me and smiled, slowly she stood to her feet, and said, "Really?" "Yes, ma'am, you're like a little guardian angel sent to watch over all those people walking by." She nodded her head yes and smiled, and with that she spread her wings and said, "I am. I'm your guardian angel," with a twinkle in her eye.~

~I was speechless, sure I was seeing things. She said, "For once you thought of someone other than yourself, my job here is done." Immediately I stood to my feet and said, "Wait, so why did no one stop to help an angel?" She looked at me and smiled, " You're the only one who could see me, and you believe it in your heart." And She was gone.~

~And with that my life was changed dramatically. So, when you think you're all you have, remember, your angel is always watching over you.~

~AN ANGEL HAS SPOKEN~

~An angel has spoken, His words did I hear, Be not afraid, my child, I am always so near.~

~Those times when the darkness of night Seems so endless and long, When the suns warm touch is far from the dawn, You draw yourself in, hide from the dark, Fear not my child, for I am thy spark.

~I lighten your path, I hold you within, You are not alone, The veil is so thin. I hear you in silence, Your fears do I sense, Darkness is ending, Light shall commence.~

~Your pains do I share, My heart reaches for you, I weep when you suffer, My love is so true. As a child, you called to me, You needed me there, My wings to protect you, To guide you with care.~

~With age, you forgot me, You looked another way, But I am still with you, How I long for the day. As days turn to months, So months turn to years, You find yourself seeking, The angels, in tears.~

~I fly to you swiftly, With wings soaring high, To embrace your sweet spirit, Behold it is I. As youth you did need me, To hold you so near, I never have left you, Your Guardian so dear. I walk with you always, Never shall I stray, I am Your Angel, I will show you the way.~

~WAS HE AN ANGEL?~

~In 1949, my father had just returned home from the war. On every American highway, you could see soldiers in uniform hitchhiking home to their families, as was the custom at that time in America. Sadly, the thrill of his reunion with his family was soon overshadowed.~

~My grandmother became very ill and had to be hospitalized. It was her kidneys, and the doctors told my father that she needed a blood transfusion immediately or she would not live through the night.~

~The problem was that Grandmother's blood type was AB negative, a very rare type even today, but even harder to get then because there were no blood banks or air flights to ship blood.~

~All the family members were typed, but not one member was a match. So the doctors gave the family no hope; my grandmother was dying. My father left the hospital in tears to gather up all the family members so that everyone would get a chance to tell Grandmother good-bye.~

~As my father was driving down the highway, he passed a soldier in uniform hitchhiking home to his family. Deep in grief, my father had no inclination at that moment to do a good deed. Yet it was almost as if something outside himself pulled him to a stop, and he waited as the stranger climbed into the car.~

~My father was too upset to even ask the soldier his name, but the soldier noticed my father's tears right away and inquired about them. Through his tears, my father told this total stranger that his mother was lying in a hospital dying because the doctors had been unable to locate her blood type, AB negative, and if they did not locate her blood type before nightfall, she would surely die.~

~It got very quiet in the car. Then this unidentified soldier extended his hand out to my father, palm up. Resting in the palm of his hand were the dogtags from around his neck. The blood type on the tags was AB negative. The soldier told my father to turn the car around and get him to the hospital.~

~My grandmother lived until 1996, 47 years later, and to this day no one in our family knows the soldier's name. But my father has often wondered, was he a soldier or an angel in uniform? Sometimes, we never know who God will bring into our lives to carry out a special mission nor do we know whose lives God will have us touch.~

~KEEP THE FORK~

~There was a woman who had been diagnosed with a terminal illness and was given 3 months to live. As she began getting her things "in order," she called her pastor and asked for him to come to her house to discuss certain aspects of her final wishes. She told him which songs she wanted sung at the service, what scriptures she wanted read, and what dress she wanted to be buried in. She also requested to be buried with her favorite Bible in her left hand.~

~Everything was in order and as the pastor was preparing to leave, the woman suddenly remembered one final request that was very important to her. "Please Pastor, just one more thing," she said excitedly. "Sure, What is it?" was the pastor's reply. "This is very important to me," the woman continued..."I want to be buried holding a fork in my right hand." The pastor gazed at the woman, with a loss for words. "That surprises you, doesn't it?" the woman asked. The pastor replied "Well to be quite honest, I'm puzzled by the request." The woman explained. "You see, Pastor, in all my years of attending church socials and potluck dinners, I remember that when the dishes were being cleared after the main course, someone would inevitably lean over to me and say, 'Keep your Fork.' It was my favorite part because I knew that something better was coming, like velvety chocolate cake or deep-dish apple pie. Something wonderful, and with substance to end the great meal." The pastor listened intently and a smile came upon his face. The woman continued, "So, I just want people to see me there in the casket with a fork in my hand and I want them to wonder... 'What's with the fork?'... Then I want you to tell them: "Keep your Fork...the best is yet to come".~

~The pastor's eyes welled up with tears of joy as he hugged the woman good-bye. He knew that this would be one of the last times that he would see her before her death. But he also knew that the woman had a better grasp of Heaven then he did. She KNEW and trusted that the best was yet to come. At the funeral, everyone that walked by the woman's casket saw her wearing a beautiful dress with her favorite Bible held in her left hand and a fork held in her right hand.~

~Over and over the pastor heard people ask the question, "Why is she holding a fork?" and his smile began to get larger and brighter each time. During his message, the pastor told the people about the conversation that he had with the woman shortly before she died. He explained the fork and what it symbolized to her. The Pastor told everyone how he could not stop thinking about the fork and how he hoped that they would not be able to stop thinking about it either.~

~That fork and the meaning of it to the woman had quite the impact on everyone and they are still sharing the story with people they meet. And now it has been shared with you...so the next time you reach for your fork let it remind you, oh so gently, that the best is yet to come... May God bless you your family and keep every one of you safe. Please share this story with someone you know.~

~A PLACE FOR ME~

~There is a special place in life, That needs my humble skill, A certain job I'm meant to do, Which no one else can fulfill.~

~The time will be demanding, And the pay is not too good And yet I wouldn't change it for a moment -- even if I could~

~There is a special place in life, A goal I must attain, A dream that I must follow, Because I won't be back again.~

~There is a mark that I must leave, However small it seems to be, A legacy of love for those Who follow after me~

~There is a special place in life, That only I may share, A little path that bears my name, Awaiting me somewhere.~

~There is a hand that I must hold, A word that I must say, A smile that I must give For there are tears to blow away.~

~There is a special place in life that I was meant to fill. A sunny spot where flowers grow, upon a windy hill.~

~There's always a tomorrow and the best is yet to be, And somewhere in this world, I know there is a place for me.~

~WHEN I SAY I AM A CHRISTIAN~

~When I say..."I am a Christian" I'm not shouting "I am saved" I'm whispering "I was lost!" That is why I chose this way." When I say..."I am a Christian" I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need someone to be my guide. When I say..."I am a Christian" I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and pray for strength to carry on. When I say..."I am a Christian" I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and cannot ever pay the debt. When I say..."I am a Christian" I'm not claiming to be perfect, my flaws are too visible but God believes I'm worth it. When I say..."I am a Christian" I still feel the sting of pain I have my share of heartaches which is why I seek His name. When I say..."I am a Christian" I do not wish to judge. I have no authority. I only know I'm loved. And so are YOU!!!!!~
