Did you ever wish that you were a bird,
And, up there in the sky?
Goodness gracious…how I’d soar,
Come on now…let’s give it a try!

First, we put our arms out,
Then…we begin to flap;
Back and forth…up and down,
Tippy…tappy…and a zap!

Come on now…we’re just pretending,
So, we can be a little silly;
Flap those wings…get them going,
Come on now…and do it…lively!

If you need help getting airborne,
Perhaps you need a boost;
Try a short run...down a hill,
Don’t just sit there like a chicken on a roost!

Start running…faster and faster,
And, keep those wings a`flapping;
Lift your legs now…get them up,
That’s the only way to make it happen!

Of course…I’m only dreaming,
But, we can do a lot…when we pretend;
There’s just no limit…placed on us,
So…dream BIG…my friend!

I CAN FLY…Yes, I can,
Don’t try to tell me otherwise;
My body may be earth-bound,
But, above all that…I can rise!
