Well, I have some good news for you,
They are thoughts…they are not real;
It doesn’t matter what others say,
All that matters…is how they make you feel.

Do you fear and tremble,
You break out in a cold sweat?
Well, I’ve been there…done that,
And, it’s not worth all the effort!

If a light turned on…will scare them,
Will drive them all away;
Then, doesn’t that show you,
They were not real…in any way?

‘Things’ seem to hide in the dark,
Especially when we’re a child;
They make us fear and tremble,
And, our mind races…it just goes wild!

But, experience will show us,
These ‘things’…they are not real;
We have nothing at all to fear,
They are fantasy…and unreal.

Perhaps, as we grow older,
New MONSTERS…we create;
Children aren’t the only ones,
Sometimes adults…well, they can ideate*.
.............................(*imagine)

Our MONSTERS may be different,
But, to us…they still are real;
And, one by one…we battle them,
Our victories…will come gradual.

Just as light dispels the darkness,
Creepy-crawly…slimy and scaly MONSTERS…flee;
So too…the truth…when we apply it,
That truth…will set us free.

So, as we journey down life’s road,
And, we face the ‘things’ we fear;
The creepy-crawly…slimy and scaly MONSTERS,
Why…each one…will disappear!
