What can I say about Nova Scooter? Perhaps the nicest lads to ever play rock music? Perhaps the most talented band of their time? Perhaps the strongest band in the world?

The true key to understanding these shaggy haired hipsters is understanding how the band combines the four unique personalities into a raw rock force!

Nova Scooter was in essence a pop band that had many different elements hidden beneath it. I would think of them to be for the most part, a very dreamy melodic, sometimes incredibly catchy pop band, who had songs ranging from long multi-tempo super songs, such as 'Twice My Size', to short happy simplistic pop gems that would stay in the heads of many young attendees of shows for hours and hours, such as 'Baby Baby'.

Nova Scooter's first and only release came in September of 1996, entitled 'Early August' named after the time of year the band formed. The cassette was recorded in the now famous Blu-Rume studios, under the watchful eye of Sean Wilkinson and Aaron Hope from the rock combo 'Shane Glosh'. Nova Scooter was my favourite band in 1996. They had spunk, they had sass, they had T-shirts with a cat on them...they had it all!
