The Skippy Story...

Skippy first formed at the end of the 1996 summer. Several young lads realized they could play together like berries on jam! The fellas then went on to play a few shows resulting in making it on Kim Tompkin's "cool" list! However, the fame soon wore them down, and before they knew it, they were "has been" rock stars who were now no longer on the inside edge! Many long hard nights went by, as team Skippy sat by the piano, trying to write the perfect American hit. Eventually, they came up with something, they called it "wipeout extreme". They practiced the song until their fingers were blue. Finally, Skippy Skippy_takes_a_chance!

was ready for the comeback concert of the year!

Moments before showtime, a disgruntled Chris Gostling walked backstage, covered in tomoto juice.

"They're animals out there!" he cried. The boys in Skippy grinned confidently, they weren't as lame as Chris Gostling... THEY had a secret trick up their sleeves!

"Man" Chris Continued, "I took this surf song called Malibu Shores, and made it real extreme right, but the crowd didn't like it at all, they said I sucked and threw tomotos at me until I left the stage." The Skippys looked around nervously. "Hey, is that Mr. T?" Chris asked as he walked away.

"FRIG!" Kevin cried out, "wipeout extreme won't work!" Skippy had a team meeting and decided that their best bet was just to cover a song for now, and claw their way back to the big leagues another time. They plugged in their axes and began rocking. Skippy made it back to the top that very day, by playing a cover-tune of Superdrag's "Sucked Out" at the show, they were again hailed as a cool band. The audience applauded and called out to them in loving tones. "You really like us!?" asked Matt in astonishment. He leaned into the mic and began to scream out "WIPEOUT EXTREME!!!" The audience looked at each other, Skippy then became an un-cool band again...and were covered in tomatos to boot!
