County 114's Home Page

My name is Barry New, I am a Sergeant with the Abbeville County Sheriff's Office in South Carolina where I have been employed since March of 2001. Prior to joining the Sheriff's Office I was employed with the Abbeville police Department as a Lieutenant since July of 1987. I worked 3 years as a telecommunications operator. I am a certified Basic, Reserve Officer, Firearms II, Driving, Radar, Assault Rifle, O.C. (pepper spray), In_Car_Video, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and The Federal N.H.T.S.A. Traffic Occupant Protection Stratagies (T.O.P.S.) Instructor with State and National Certificates. I am currently assigned to the Patrol and Training division and handle our agencies NCIC, Sex Offender Registry and Criminal Information systems. I am a also involved in other County public safety departments as Director of Dive Operations and Master Diver with our Dive Team and Battalion Chief and NFPA Firefighter II with County Fire.
