Looking back on April 2000

I had an interesting day April 7 with Diane at the Bigger meeting, and a neat lunch at the Woodruff House..very spiffy...I introduced her when she did her presentation on distance learning library services, and virtually said that Nova's services hardly counted for her, she used Mercer, as did a colleague also taking her class at Mercer.

What I did NOT do is probably more important. I did not get back to the gyn, start getting involved with religion again, send off the 1998 tax forms to IRS...in fact what I did not do was the things "left undone"..and I spent a lot of mental energy resisting Judith....revisiting and looking for slights, and generally making myself miserable.

The supper with the young librarians Florence, Beth, and DAvid, and Mallory from the computer area and Abdul, a former student assistant.

I finished off the Drug Lit class..which Laurl has taken over almost entirely, and did not feel good about that.I feel that the students do not like me at all.

What I really want to do I think is get back to basics, reinvent myself, focus on my own health, strength and happiness....

The contract letter for one more year came from Judith's hand on Wednesday....and it is a nice salary figure and once coupled with the SS check should be really great.

Diane is looking for another job..seriously, and has a contact for the media job at the Emory Health Sciences Library and has applications out for 5 jobs in Florida.

Pharmacy graduation

I showed up in time just to pick up the Mace and not hang around the pharmacy faculty and feel "out of it" as I had so often in the past.

Graduation went without a hitch, the weather was great. Diane wanted our "traditional aftergraduation lunch" and she drove me to Decatur..we ate Mexican at N Decatur and Clairmont...and on the way I enthused about the SREB distance learning consortia she had talked about earlier when she was looking at distance learning consortia. I really got carried away. It was very exciting.

I docented again at the Tour of Homes for Druid Hills at Pinebloom...and Eden sold cookbooks and was very excited about her sales.

Someone she seemed to feel closer to me...Rob and Marti picked us up....then J and M went to visit with Liza and Joe and E,R, and I went to supper at Dunk and Dine on Cheshirebridge and then the movies at Tara...a kind of dumb movie about a "changing places" of two women...and how their lives might have been. I really did not like it.

Got a ride home with them in the van....

Again...I was surprised how Eden really seem to appreciate me...maybe it was my vounteering those 7 hours Friday and Saturday to help her out.
