Journal-Canaduh!

This is a story from Skawalker's Canadian tour.

Its around six o'clock pm and I just woke up from a nap. We have returned from our 2 day, 2 country tour, and things did not go as planned. Last monday I got on the phone and decided to check up on the promoters and make sure everything was going to run smoothly. I called to the promoter in Grand Rapids Michigan and to my surprise he told me that he'd be out of town the day we were to perform, but there was no need to worry cuz his friend would be handling the show. so I called the friend, and to my surprise, he knew nothing of hte show. Actually, he had heard somehting about it, but he never paid attention cuz he was going to be in Chicago that night. So we were screwed, but I didn't give up hope. I pulled out by OFL and began to call every promoter in Michigan and had no success until I tried the Kung-Fu cafe in Ann Arbor. They couldn't help me but they said that their band was playing in Ypsalanti, Michigan that night, and we amy also be able to play. So I called up Dave in Ypsalanti, and he said it was cool. So everything was set; Saturday-Ypsalanti, Sunday-Toronto. So we jumped in my mom's suburban and we were off. We drove and then stopped somewhere in Indiana to get some cheap grub. While we were eating we met an older man named Pete who told us pointless stories and hit on Heidi. Then we drove some more and then stopped in Ann Arbor. This town sucked, the skaters were mean and the record stores blew, but one thing cool did happen. As we were walking down a street we walked pasta n alley and saw a man dancing and lip-synching to Michael Jackson's album, "Beat It." That man had some bad moves. Then we left Ann Arbor and arrived in Ypsalanti. This town was also crappy, although they did have something which Pete enjoyed, an adult book store with 25 cent peep-shows. Anyway, we palyed in Dave and sam's apartment for a drunk and stoned crowd with two other decent bands. I think they liked us cuz one girl put our sticker on her bong. the show was over at 1:30 (Chicago time) and we decided to jump in the space mobile and head up to the great white north. Around 3:00 we drove through the tunnel and entered Canada, eh. All we had to do was go through customs and then we were free. but that didn't happen. Those fuckin' mounties wouldn't let us cross cuz we had guitars in the truck. They said since we have guitars, we must be playing a gig, and since we're playing we must be getting paid, and since we're getting paid we need a work permit. Well, I guess they were right, except for that getting paid part. So they gave us da boot from Canada and gave us permission to re-enter the U.S.A. We were rejects. We decided to head back to Chicago. Along the way we stopped twice, once at a Denny's who had an anti-swearing rule, and once to buy some fireworks. We arrive home around 10:30 and all took a well deserved nap. I had been awake for over 26 hours and had driven almost 800 miles.
