Mabon

Also known as: Autumn Equinox; Second Harvest; Festival of Dionysus; Alban Eifed; Cornucopia

Mabon occurs on the Autumn Equinox, which falls on or around September 21st. It is the completion of the harvest begun at Lammas. The God prepares to leave His physical body and begins His journey into renewal and rebirth. Nature also declines, preparing itself for winter, the time of rest. The Goddess nods in the weakening Sun while feeling the presence of the God in Her womb.
