Midsummer

Also known as: Summer Solstice; Litha; Alban Hefin; Gathering Day; Feill-Sheathain; Whitsuntide; Vestalia; St. John's Day

The Sabbat of Midsummer falls on the summer solstice, which occurs on or around June 21st. It is the time when the powers of nature reach their highest point. The God is at the heighth of His powers and the Goddess is pregnant, preparing for Her bountiful harvest. The earth is alive with fertility of the Goddess and God. Midsummer is also the time to say farewell to the Waxing Year and to begin preparation for the Waning Year.
