Headaches and Heartbeats

I just came home from studying with Stu and I am trying to eat my Steak and Shake milkshake before it melts. The trip for the milkshake was the second one I have made there today (I got some lunch this afternoon too). I just couldn’t think of anywhere else that I could get some food at 11 PM. Anyway, I have a lot of work to do tonight and I decided to write an entry now while I am motivated to do it.

The weekend didn’t turn out how I planned it. I was present for almost all aspects of the Alpha Chi Omega initiation, but I didn’t have to actually participate in most of that. Since I worked in the kitchen I was exempt from ceremony attendance. I did miss the last roll call on Friday night because we were supposed to sleep at the house that night and I wasn’t there. Saturday was the six-month anniversary of my first date with Stu and that was kind of a big deal. When we got back to his apartment on Friday night, after making an appearance (mine was rather a short one) at Robyn’s party, Stu had some wine set up in his room. It was really romantic. What else could a girl ask for? I was planning a little surprise for him, but since the week had been so stressful I hadn’t actually gotten around to doing anything about it. I feel bad, but Stu says that wasn’t his intention. I’ll make it up to you somehow, sweetie!

Since Hurricane Irene decided to dump so much rain on Miami at the end of the week we chose not to venture in that direction on Saturday. Instead Stu and I went to Steinhatchee to visit his family on vacation. They were staying in a really nice cabin there and it seemed like a good place to take a family for the weekend. My dad was just happy that we didn’t decide to go to Miami, so he sounded really pleased when I called him and said we were on our way to Steinhatchee. It was a nice trip.

I have been working on homework since I got back (around 1 PM) with a few hours of running errands here and there. I can’t believe how much work I have to do this week. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have as much as last week, but the schoolwork aspect will peak sometime in the next few days because of midterms. One of these days I am going to catch up on my sleep. I was thinking about that and I decided that sometime in mid-November I should be completely rested. Until then I will be tired all the time and complaining about how busy I am. If you don’t want to be a part of that come back and visit me in a month, but you’ll be missing some fun stuff in the interim. The next few weeks and weekends are gonna be fun!
