"What do we have Lieutenant?" says Captain Steel

"The carrier T.F.S. Ruegger with a full compliment of fighters and bombers, the battleships Norwood and Socorro and about half a dozen destroyers."

"Excellent."

On the bridge of the STRIKER Captain Steel, Maverick, Miranda, and BJ are here.

"We have a transwarp conduit generator to destroy. Let's get going then." says Miranda

"Yes ma'am." says Steel "Full speed helm."

"Aye sir."

In seconds the task force disappears from space and enters a confusing whirlwind of light. The Striker is bucked around a little through it all.

"This is normal." says Miranda. "You have to set your stabilizers just right or it will be like this all the way."

"How long until were on the other side?" says BJ

"Just another minute and we'll be there."

"Got it sir." says one crewman.

"Much better." says Steel

"Tell the task force to be ready for anything." says Maverick

In a blink of an eye the task force exits the conduits to find.....a lone wedge shaped station surrounded by small ships, and in the distance a space battle can be seen.

"We're being hailed." says a crewman "They're asking for Miranda."

"Put them on." says Steel

Another wolf-sapien appears on the screen.

"Princess Miranda! Thank god your here to help us! The Ninith broke the cease fire treaty! We're fighting for our lives here!"

"Commander Holster, you've got help. Have the remaining ships move toward the conduit."

"Stop right there!" says Steel "What is going on here?"

"Right now I'm just trying to save what's left of our people."

"Princess, tell you friends to help us! We're being slaughtered! We have to protect the station until we are safe!"

"Captain?"

"Have the Ruegger launch all fighters, and coordinate with theirs in the battle. Let's wade into them! Have the Norwood and Socorro provide cover as the ships escape. Let's lead them back."

The Striker goes to the conduit and holds station as the other ships go through.

"Commander Holster, get your ships through." says Miranda

"We still have people on the station."

"Don't worry about us." cuts in another voice "We have to keep it working until all ships are through. Unfortunatly we must stay behind to destroy it."

"What? Ricochet you can't!" says Holster "Your coming with us."

"Go! Save yourselves"

"No time to argue folks!" says Steel "They're all through! Now let's go!"

The Striker is the last ship to enter as Ninith vessels swarm the conduit station, firing all weapons. Seconds later, the fleet makes it through.

"Report!" shouts Steel

"The conduit closed behind us sir. It's sealed up."

"Have all former KH vessels land on D'eelo III."

"Captain's Log, BJ recording. The KH Empire is gone. In it's place are about 10,000 wolf-sapiens who have decided to settle on D'eelo III permanatly as colonists. All current KH technology has been destroyed and it's surviving leading scientist sent to various technology outposts such as Coranis and Deneb. Miranda has asked to attend Spacefleet Academy in Geneva. The academy commandant readily accepted her and she's now attending classes. The former KH wolves on D'eelo III are on, as Admiral Keogh put it, probation to see if they'll become helpful citizens of the Federation. After what I saw on New Shepherd, I wouldn't be surprised if they did. End log.
