The Bear Facts

Somewhere deep inside a forest a lone man walks through the woods. This is Dr. Allen Davis. He takes out a walkie-talkie.

"Hey Joe, you read me?"

"Loud a clear. What's up?"

"Are you sure there are no bears in these woods?"

"I'm positive. Your the bear expert here, maybe you can tell me why there are no bears around? Are they hibernating?"

"In the middle of summer? No way!"

"Well keep looking. Maybe you'll get lucky.

"Right. Over and out."

Allen puts away his walkie-talkie and walks some more through the woods. He stops when he hears loud rustling.

"Joe, you there?"

"What's up?"

"Any of your guys in this area?"

"Negative."

Low growling can be heard from the bushes.

"I think I found one of your missing bears. Hold on."

Allen goes toward the brush. Suddenly a huge figure stands up and looms over him. Allen is horrified at what he see's. The figure slaps the walkie-talkie out of his hand and it lands a few few feet away.

"No! Stay back!!"

Camp site. The Maddogs are here putting their supplies away getting ready to go.

"Outlaw, message from Mission Control." says Harley

"Let's have it."

The Master comes on Harley's screen.

"Morning Master. What can we do for you?"

"Are you familiar with Dr. Allen Davis?"

"I am." says Wesley "He's supposed to be a top notch wildlife biologist, especially bears."

"He was reported missing yesterday. He was investigating the disapearance of black and grizzly bears in a forest not too far from where you are."

"What you wanna bet General Parvo's involved?" says Beowulf

"What makes you say that?" says Saphire

"Please! Animals and people disapearing? He's probably using bears for his mutant army like he used pirahna's in the Amazon."

"A very interesting theory Beowulf. And very likely on the money. Check it out Maddogs."

"Wait, how are we going to stop mutant bears?" says Silver "For all we know they're probably 12 feet tall or something."

"I can modify my demutator guns to accomadate bears." says Wesley "Just takes a little tweaking."

Beowulf scoffs.

"Of course he can."

"Good luck."

The Master disappears from the screen.

Forest Ranger building. The Maddogs are talking to Allen's brother Joe Davis.

"So you were talking to him when he disapeared?"

"Yeah. He said he'd found a bear and then his walkie-talkie went dead."

"Don't worry Mr. Davis, were good at finding people." says Outlaw

They head outside.

"You got a track on his radio Wesley?" says Silver

"Loud and clear. You got his trail?"

"You betcha."

"Let's move. Saphire, give us a bird's eye view." says Outlaw

"No problem."

Saphire flies up toward the top of the trees. They walk through the woods for about an hour and then come across Allen's smashed radio.

"Well, here's the radio." says Outlaw

"Whoa! Some mighty big prints here." says Silver

"Yikes. Even for a bear those are big." says Beowulf

"I'm not sure I want to come across these things." says Wesley

"Let's move."

"Outlaw, get down!"

"What?"

"I can see one of them. Probably a guard on patrol. He's headed your way!"

"CC belts, now!"

They all turn on their changeling/cloaker belts and hide in the brush. The "Urso-Mutant" comes into sight. He's at least 10-12 feet tall, with basic armour on and the same weapons used by Cano-Mutants. He stops and sniffs the air and gets a puzzled look. Suddenly Outlaw turns off his belt and fires his demutator gun. The mutant bear revert to normal size and goes unconsious. The others turn off their belts as well.

"Geez-Laweez did you see the size of that thing!" says Wesley

"He won't be going anywhere for a while." says Outlaw

"What do we call these things anyways?" says Beowulf

"Ursa-Mutants?" says Silver

"Sounds right. Let's go." says Outlaw

Silver guides them to where the Mutant came. Still using their CC belts they hide in some bushes as a side of a tree opens. Two Ursa-Mutants come out.

"He's late, he should have been back by now."

"Should I look for him?"

"Go on. The Boss won't like it if one comes up missing."

"But what if I come across the Road Rovers or someone close to them?"

"Huh. Then do what we bears do best, rip them apart."

"Gotcha."

The 2nd Mutant goes off into the woods as the first goes back inside. The Maddogs come up to the entrance and it opens easily.

"I smell a trap." says Beowulf

"Saphire, stay cloaked and have a looksee if you can find Dr. Davis."

"On it."

Saphire disappears from view.

"Uhh, why are we sneaking in uncloaked?" says Wesley

"To let Parvo know were here." says Outlaw "What are you worried about? Were immortal."

"Oh, yeah I keep forgetting. But still, going against an army of mutant bears."

"Hey! Stop right there!"

"They know were here." says Beowulf

"Cover!"

Numerous Ursa-Mutants come out to stop them and the alarms go off. In Parvo's command chamber.

"What is that?!"

"Intruder alert!"

"Show me."

A security camera shows the Maddogs fighting the mutants.

"No! Anyone but the Maddogs! Give me the Rovers, the Strayers, but not the Maddogs! (cough cough) It's time to elimiate the good doctor. (cough cough hack wheeze) Lozenge!"

"Yes General."

In a brig like room Dr Allen Davis is sitting on a bench when Saphire comes in.

"Who are you?"

"Saphire of the Maddogs. I'm here to get you out Doctor."

"Thank heavens."

"Come on."

They head outside but are stopped in their tracks by two Ursa-Mutant.

"Freeze!"

"Come and get me boys!"

Saphire flies up and heads toward them. They raise their weapons but Saphire is faster and demutates them. In Parvo command chamber.

"Set the self-destruct system Groomer."

"Yes General."

Before Groomer can set it the console explodes from a laser shot. They both turn and see Outlaw standing in the doorway.

"Let's move it Groomer!"

Parvo and Groomer hightail it out of there. Beowulf starts to go after them but Outlaw hold his hand up.

"You actually let him go?"

"He'll behave for a while. Lookie what we saved for Wesley."

Wesley comes in and has the look of a kid at Christmas morning.

"Oh goody! The Rovers will be happy with what I come up with!"

Saphire and Allen come in.

"Good work Angel."

"Thanks."

"Thank you for saving me."

"Not a problem."

RRMC briefing room. The Maddogs are here and the Master is standing on his balcony.

"One of Parvo's bases still intact for once and the locations of several of his fall back bases. Nice work. And all the bears are back in the wild. Hopefully we'll see no more of these 'Ursa-Mutants'."

"Amen." says Wesley
