Rigel IV. T.F.S. Yorktown, Outlaw's office off from the bridge. Outlaw is currently reading from his terminal when the door chimes.

"Come."

Miles and BJ walk in and stand at attention.

"As you were. Welcome aboard gentlemen."

"Thank you sir." says Miles "It's an honor to be here. I'll bet you have some interesting stories to tell us about our past relatives."

"Lots of them. Though I doubt BJ wants to hear them."

"I couldn't care less about them." says BJ "That's all I ever hear from people; how great some of your past relatives were. Miles here thought I should come with."

Outlaw consults his console.

"Hmm. A history of minor offenses. Petty theft, breaking and entering, assault....."

"Hey, that jerk had it coming! He was trying to....."

"Save it Ensign! Your not interested? Fine. Dismissed!"

The door chimes again and Outlaw's first officer comes in.

"What's up Robert?"

"We just got word from the 5th Fleet in the Yarban Sector."

"Yes?"

Robert lowers his head as if ashamed.

"Only 13 ships made it back."

Outlaw puts a hand over his face.

"15?!" exclaims Miles "Out of 50 ships?"

"There's more." says Robert "5 more systems have fallen to the Kzatti."

"This can't go on!" says Miles "They have to be stopped!"

"Sir, you have to tell the admiral that we can't just sit here forever!"

"That will be all Mr Hood."

Robert leaves the room.

"Perhaps another time sir?" says Miles

"Good idea."

Miles leaves. Yorktown bridge a day later. Admiral Keogh is on the screen.

"9th Fleet you are going into battle. I want you to engage the enemy and inflict major damage if possible. We need at least one major victory and I mean now. Admiral Bodine will be in charge and will be useing the Lexington as his flagship. Good luck.

On the bridge of the Lexington.

"Carriers Taiho and Nimitz formup along side. Battleships Sarajevo and Orlando assume formation. All other ships do the same. Let's move 'em out."

About a day later, the 21st is on patrol near the Beta Gamma star system.

"I've got a bogey on my scope, confirm?" says Blaze

"Copy that. 12:00." says Danny

"21st we have confirmation that the enemy is in this star system. Return to defend immediatly."

"Copy that." says Tim

On the bridge of the Lexington Admiral Bodine looks over the Captain Zimmerman.

"Captain, tell the Taiho and Nimitz to launch all fighters. Let's do the same."

"Aye sir."

"Enemy bearing down on us. I read several fighter squadrons one battleship and two cruisers."

"Battlestations!"

"Our fighters are engaging the enemy. Enemy battleship getting ready to fire."

"On what ship?" says Bodine

"The Nimitz."

"Nimitz respond!"

"We know admiral!"

On the Yorktown.

""Three enemy fighters bearing down on us!" reports Scout

"Mr Muldoon, make every shot count!" says Outlaw

"Will do sir."

The ship vibrates from several shots. A laser shot from the ship takes out one fighter. Meanwhile around the Kzatti battleship, several fighter squadrons are taking anti-aircraft fire from the battleship.

"Blue 7 this is Red Leader!" saays Tim "Your in the line of fire!"

"I--I'm disabled! I can't----AHH!!"

"Green 4 to Blue 6 check your six!"

"This is Red 3 I'm going in!" says BJ

"Negative Red 3!"

"Just shut up and let me do my job!"

BJ swoops in close to the battleship and takes potshots at the hull doing whatever damage he can.

"Way to go BJ!" says Miles

"I think I found something interesting." says BJ "My computer says there's an exhaust port that leads to the reactor core! My lasers can't seem to target it.

"Don't worry about it!" says Tim "The Sarajevo will be here to take it out."

"But she's in the the Beta Delta system! I'm arming torpedoes."

"I'm coming in to cover you!" says Miles

"Red 8 to Blue 10, Morris pull up!" says Tundra

"I-I-can't keep it together!"

"Bail out!"

Morris's fighter plows into the side of the battleship.

"Torpedoes away!" reports BJ "They're in!"

"Let's move it!" says Tim

As the fighters race away the battleship explodes in a huge fireball. On the bridge of the Lexington everyone cheers.

"They did it! Admiral they did it!! Ad--?"

Buck looks toward Admiral Bodine to find him sprawled on the floor, shrapnel embedded in his forehead. All remaining enemy fighters are easily taken out or retreat. Rigel IV, Admiral Keogh is talking to the 9th fleet.

"Congratulations. That battleship you destroyed just happened to be their flagship. Our loses were pretty light compared to what's been happening. The Nimitz was destroyed and the destroyer Natchez when one of the enemy destroyers rammed it. 21st, you did a good job, expecially you Ensign BJ. This may well be the turning point. Again, good job."

Everyone cheers as the gun camera footage from BJ's fighter shows the torpedoes going in and destroying the battleship. BJ it seems is actually enjoying the attention.
