Continues from Ursa Majors story "Blaze of Glory"....

Retriever sickbay. Ivory is here with Tex, Cobalt, Maverick, Slide and Bengal.

"There's no doubt about it. Cobalt, Slide, your both pregnant." says Ivory

"Congrats you two!" says Bengal

"Thank you sir." says Cobalt

"I guess we'll be transferring stateside for jobs at the Academy." says Tex "I hear the Pouncers are looking for experienced instructors."

"I guess the same can be said about me." says Maverick "I was afriad I almost lost you in the East China Sea."

"We took some bullet holes, no problem." says Slide "Pandora's a good officer, she'll do good taking over the Stingray for me."

"Who will take over your platoon, Tex?" says Bengal

"Lieutenant T-Bone. He's next in line."

"Well I have to tell Emerald the good news. Once again, congrats."

"Come!"

Emerald's office. Bengal enters.

"Ah Bengal, I was about to send for you. The Ursa Majors just called and wanted you and Tex to stop by for a visit to their new home on Grizzly Mountain."

Bengal chuckles.

"Figures they'd settle there. I've got some news of my own."

"Oh?"

"Cobalt and Slide are both pregnant."

"Really? That's good news. I'll have to throw them a shower. When we get back that is."

"Ma'am?"

"I'm coming with. I'd like to meet these Ursa Majors."

"As you wish, captain."

Flight deck. Emerald, Bengal, Tex, Frodo, and Kenai are gathered around Tailspin's chopper.

"All aboard!" says Tailspin "Next stop, Grizzly Mountain."

They all pile in and the chopper takes off.

"It'll be great seeing them again." says Kenai

"You bet." says Tex "Didja here that Yukon and Kiska are becoming the hot item?"

"No! Yukon? Good for him."

"From your description of them from earlier this year, I'm eager to meet them." says Frodo.

"You won't be disapointed." says Bengal "They're fierce warriors, loyal friends, and an excellent addition to the Rover forces."

Grizzly Mountain. Luna, her Wolfbots, Brute and Scalp are standing together bragging. The bodies of the Ursa Majors nearby. The noise of a chopper can be heard and Luna smiles.

"Ah, more targets. Back into the forest my Wolfbots. You two as well. We'll have a surprise waiting for those sea dogs."

"Oh goody, more targets!" says Brute

"Hey look." says Tailspin.

Emerald, in the copilots chair picks up a pair of binoculars and looks.

"No." she whispers "Tailspin, take us down."

"Yes, ma'am."

As Tailspin brings the chopper to a landing, the others see as well.

"No! shouts Kenai

He opens the chopper door and jumps out before it can land.

"Kenai, wait!" says Bengal

"Tailspin, are there any weapons on this crate?" says Tex

"Check under the floorboard there."

Tex opens the floorboard and finds laser rifles stashed there.

"Arm yourselves." says Emerald "Whoever did this is probably still in the area."

They file out of the chopper and head for the scene. Kenai is on his hands and knees sobbing.

"No! Not the Ursa Majors! No!"

Tex walks up to Yukon's body and kneels down.

"Rest in peace my friend."

"Who did this?" says Frodo.

Bengal sniffs the air.

"I smell wolves."

Bengal then growls.

"KH Military!"

"You sure?" says Tailspin

"Who else?"

Kenai has stopped sobbing and also sniffs in a particular direction.

"They'll pay for this!"

Kenai stands up to his full height and lets out an ear splitting roar towards the sky.

"Oh, like the wench said, put it on our bill."

Brute and Scalp come out of the forest. Kenai is so furious, he charges them.

"Kenai, stop!" shouts Emerald

"Let them have it my Wolfbots!" shouts Luna.

The Wolfbots come out of the forest also and raise their gatling gun arms.

"Scatter! shouts Bengal

Kenai is a raging fury as he takes on Brute and Scalp. Brute trips him up and he crashes head first into a tree. While he's down, Brute and Scalp stand over him.

"They were no match for Luna's bots." says Brute "Which is why we provided the distraction."

"Yup. And they were dumb enough to fall for it." says Scalp "Your friends over there don't stand a chance against them either."

Brute and Scalp laugh heartily.

Kenai has gotten up and steadies himself on the tree. He faces the duo with a fury and roars out his challenge before charging again.

"To the death!"

The other meanwhile are trying to stay out of the Wolfbots sights. Tex and Frodo lay behind a fallen tree, firing their laser rifles at one of the bots. The shots merey bounce off the armour.

"We have to fall back!" says Tex

"To where?" says Frodo "They destroyed the chopper!"

"On my count, we run deeper into the forest. One...two...three!"

Tex and Frodo dash into the forest but Frodo is suddenly hit and is dead before he hits the ground. Tex stops long enough to notice, then resumes running.

The Wolfbots have stopped firing and are stalking the away team through the forest.

"Come out, come out, where ever you are!" mocks Luna

Bengal is hiding behind a boulder and makes a run for it, and comes face to face with a Wolfbot. Before it can fire Emerald jumps in and shoves Bengal out of the way. The Wolfbot fires!

Bengal rolls on the ground and comes up shooting. A lucky shot hits the bots gatling gun right down a barrel and the arm explodes. The bot twitches then falls to the ground. Bengal runs up and smashes the butt of his refle into the bots face. All power in the bot dies.

"Impossible!" says Luna.

Tailspin comes out, rifle up.

"Freeze!"

Luna runs for it and Tailspin hits her in the leg and she goes down. Bengal meanwhile comes up to Emerald and kneels down. She is not doing well.

"Did.....you get it....Bengal?"

"Yes ma'am. We'll get you back to the ship."

"No. I'm dying....Bengal. And you.....know it. Your captain now....make me....proud."

"I will."

Emerald smiles, the breathes a final time. Tailspin walks up.

"We got another bot to take out."

"I know." says Bengal "How's the prisoner?"

"She swollowed a poison before I could stop her."

"Wonderful. Let's go. You helkp Kenai, I'll help Tex."

"Right."

Brute and Scalp are beating Kenai unmercifully. He is breathing heavily from the pounding he is taking.

"Dumb bear. Did you really think you could beat us?" says Brute

Scalp suddenly starts to gasp.

"Not...now!"

"What is it?"

"It's....wearing....off!"

Brute also starts to gasp. Kenai notices and smiles

"Well, well. Big bag werewolves thought they were something special."

"Kenai, need any help?" says Tailspin coming on the scene

"No. Just sit back and watch."

Brute and Scalp's gasps turn into groans and they double over from the pain. They literaly deflate into standard wolf-sapiens.

"I'll take that rifle."

Two laser shots echo in the mountain.

Tex meanwhile has made it to the Ursa Major's base and goes inside and hides. He picks and pokes around for useful items and sets them up along the cave entrance and waits.

The remaining Wolfbot comes to the base entrance and goes in. Tex waits until its well inside before making a break for it out of the cave in a zigzag, holding a missile launcher. The bot turns and tracks Tex. Tex sets off explosives that shatter the base and causes the roof to come crashing down on the bot. Tex jumps out of the entrance as a cloud of smoke and debris spew out.

"Tex! You all right?" says Bengal

"Not now, Bengal!"

Tex aims the missile launcher at the cave entrance and waits. Sure enough, the debris is moved aside and a twictching, damaged wolfbot comes out. Tex lets it have it with the launcher. It's sparking head lands at Tex's feet and kicks it away.

"Good riddance."

"Tex! Bengal!"

"Over heard Kenai!" says Bengal

Kenai and Tailspin join them.

"What happened to Frodo?" says Tailspin.

"Dead." says Tex

"So's Emerald." says Bengal

"I guess that makes you captain now." says Kenai

"Yeah. Let's see if we can salvage a radio from the chopper."

KHS Alexander. Stalker and Trigger are conversing.

"Your certain the bots were destroyed?" says Stalker

"Positive. Brute and Scalp are dead also, as is Luna."

"Well, it was an interesting project while it lasted. Have the plans destroyed."

"Yes sir."

"On to other business."
