Kenyataan Menteri Datin Seri Rafidah Aziz dalah seperti yang diduga. Beliau tidak merujuk kepada laporan Polis saya minggu lalu; tetapi cuba mengaleh isu mengatakan siasatan sudah selesai dan beliau tidak bersalah.

Saya ulangi bahawa tuduhan tersebut bukan berpunca dari saya tetapi menurut Pendakwaan Jabatan Peguam Negara yang ditandatangani oleh Abdul Gani Patail. Peguam Neara berpuas hati dengan laporan siasatan Badan Pencegah Rasuah bahawa terdapat ke prima facie terhadap beliau.

Dalam soal ini, Datin Seri Rafidah tidak harus melatah dan membebel. Saya telah meminta polis melakukan siasatan bertanggongjawab terhadap percubaan menghalang proses keadilan serta perlaksanaan undang-undang; bersabit dengan keengganan Peguam Negara bertindak setelah menerima arahan Perdana Menteri Dato Seri Dr. Mahathir Muhammad.

Datin Seri Rafidah Aziz's outburst in response to my police report was not unexpected. Apparently, she did not read or deliberately and desperately attempted to digress from the issue by maintaining that investigations had been completed and that she is innocent.

I reiterate that I did not initiate the allegations but merely made reference to Attorney General's Chambers documents proposing to prefer charges against her. The AG was satisfied with the ACA investigations and catergorically affirmed that a prima facie case had been made against her.

Datin Rafidah should not resort to her familiar rantings and ravings. I have merely sought a thorough and responsible investigation by the police against attempts by the AG to frustrate or subvert the due process of law and justice; by his forebearing to prosecute on account of Dato Seri Dr. Mahathir's directive to the effect.
