A Matter Of Trust (Sequel to Whiter Shade Of Pale)

Some love is just a lie of the heart
The cold remains of what began with a passionate start
And they may not want it to end
But it will it's just a question of when
I've lived long enough to have learned
The closer you get to the fire the more you get burned
But that won't happen to us
Because it's always been a matter of trust

I know you're an emotional girl
It took a lot for you to not lose your faith in this world
I can't offer you proof
But you're going to face a moment of truth
It's hard when you're always afraid
You just recover when another belief is betrayed
So break my heart of you must
It's a matter of trust

You can't go the distance
With too much resistance
I know you have doubts
But for God's sake don't shut me out

This time you've got nothing to lose
You can take it, you can leave it
Whatever you choose
I won't hold back anything
And I'll walk a way a fool or a king
Some love is just a lie of the mind
It's make believe until its only a matter of time
And some might have learned to adjust
But then it never was a matter of trust

I'm sure you're aware love
We've both had our share of
Believing too long
When the whole situation was wrong

Some love is just a lie of the soul
A constant battle for the ultimate state of control
After you've heard lie upon lie
There can hardly be a question of why
Some love is just a lie of the heart
The cold remains of what began with a passionate start
But that can't happen to us
Because it's always been a matter of trust

As I sit in the back of Nash’s rental car, the words blaring from the song on the radio begin to sink in my head. I lean my hesd back and sigh.

Nash looks at me from his rearview mirror.

"Ok, ok. Go ahead, say it, I know you want to." I tell him.

"Say what?" Hall asks from the passenger seat.

"I told you so. Go ahead Kev. Tell me I told you so. I know you want to." I blurt angry.

"I’m not going to say that.."

"Hey yo, who is Ty riding with??"

"The gang." I replied.

Ty and I would often ride with "The Gang"; Stacy, Torrie, Sharmell, and Vanessa. When we don’t ride with them, we ride with the Outsiders. Today though, we are in seperate vehicles.

I"m dying to hury up and get to the next town. The next hotel. Dying to find Tylene and apologize to her. Explain to her why I did what I did, why I reacted the way I did. I sigh heavily as I look out the window.

"Two more hours and we will be in Memphis." Nash says.

My mind thinks back to what happened this morning in the hotel room. Tylene leaving me. Damn, why didn’t I stop her? Why didn’t I give the ring to her right then and there?

I begin to feel sleepy. We have been on the road for six hours already. Six hours I have been without Tylene. I lay my head back and close my eyes. Hopefully when I wake up, I will be in Memphis and back with Tylene.

I feel someone shaking me.

"We’re here." Nash says as he shakes me awake.

I slowly open my eyes. I wipe the sleep out of my eyes and look around. I see that we are parked in the hotel parking lot. I open up the door and slowly climb out of the backseat. I see Sharmell’s rental car across the way. Tylene must be in the hotel somewhere. I begin walking towards the building.

"Hey! What about your stuff?" Nash yells to me.

"I’ll get it later, I have something more important I have to do!" I holler back as I keep walking.

The Outsiders looked and each other and shrugged their shoulders. Nash put his arm around his boy toy and they follow me into the hotel.

I see Sharmell and Vanessa standing in the main lobby, talking with one another. They are probably discussing what they plan on doing after the show tonight, I think to myself. They see me come in and wave.

"Have you seen Tylene?" I ask them.

Sharmell thinks for a minute, and then tells me that Tylene told her that she was going to go to her room and then go to the swimming pool later on.

I debate whether to go to her room, or wait and go to the pool.

"What is her room number?" I ask them.

Sharmell shugs her shoulders and looks at me and Vanessa, who just shakes her head and shrugs her shoulders as well. I thank them anyway and go to the front desk.

"How may I help you?" The man behind the counter asks. The nametag on his shirt says Stan.

"What room is Tylene Buck staying in?"

"I’m sorry, Miss. We are not allowed to give out that information. Is there anything else I can do for you?"

"I would like a room then." I tell Stan, fighting the urge to slap him for mot giving me Ty’s room number.

Nash is standing beside me, leaning on the counter and smirking at me.

Stan tells me the price of my room and I realize that I don’t have my purse on my shoulder.

"Shit! My purse!" I exclaim as I look down at both sides of me.

Hall taps me on my right shoulder. I turn around and I see him dangling my small black purse in the air by its straps. I give him a look and snatch it out of his hands. I mumble thank you to him as he lets out a naughty chuckle.

I open it and get out my credit card. As I hand Stan my card, I stare at a picture in my purse. Ty and me in New Orleans.

"Let me see." Nash says as he takes my purse. I had it over to him.

"Your room number is 519." Stan tells me as he hands me.

I thank him and turn around and see that Scott and Kevin brought all the luggage in, including mine. I thank them as I grab my black rolling suitcase and matching duffel bag.

I get in the elevator, lean up against the wall and close my eyes. Hopefully, I will be able to get back with her. Hopefully.

The bell sounds and the door opens. I leave the elevator and go down the hall till I get to room 519. I open up the door and enter the room.

I throw my suitcase on the bed and open it up. I pull out a shimmery sliver one piece bathing suit that zips up. I take off my hot pink tank top and extremely short cut off shorts. I put my bathing suit on zip it up only half way. I then go through my duffel bag and pull out a pair of black sunglasses. I then pull out my small purple brush and begin brushing my red hair.

I sigh a deep breath and go over to the dresser and key my room key. I go down the hall and get in the elevator.

When I get in the elevator, I see Jeff Jarrett standing in there.

"Hey slappy."

"Hi Jeff." I say as I roll my eyes and giggle.

"Where is your better half? It’s very unusual not seeing the two of you together at the same time."

"She’s at the pool."

The elevator stops. We both get out.

"Well, slappy, I’m off to get a bite to eat." he says as he heads off.

I wave to him as I head off in the direction of the pool.

I get to the pool, and I see my stable mates Mark LeRoux, Bill Demott, Chavo Guerrero Jr., and Jerry Tuite sitting at a table. I wave and smile at them.

I turn to my right and I see Tylene standing by the pool. She has on her tiny black bikini with white polka dots. Some of her long blond ponytail is pulled up into a side ponytail. She turns around, sees me, and frowns

I walk up to her.

"We have to talk. Please, let me explain." I say to her.

She shakes her head no and looks at me.

"Baby, please. Ty, I hate this..."

Before I can finish my sentence, or before Tylene could say anything, Chavo came up, stood beside the both of us, and put one arm around each of us.

"How are my two favorite girls?" he asks.

Ty and I both fake a smile, for his sake.

"Fine." she says.

He looks over at me.

"And what color of red do you call that?" he asks, referring to my hair.

"Luscious Mango."

He raised one eyebrow and looked at me.

"That’s what the box said!" I giggle.

He shakes his head and smiles. He then turns his attention to Tylene.

"So, when you coming back to the MIA?" he asks.

"Not sure." She says, not smiling.

"Well, I must say we all want you back. Don’t you want her back in the MIA?"

"I want her back more then ever." I say. I’m not looking at Chavo, but I am staring at Tylene. And she is giving me an equally tense look.

Chavo looks from me to her, then back to me again. He begins to sense that something isn’t right.

"Oh. I’ll leave the two of you alone." he says as he pats us both on the back, backs up, then turns and walks to where the others are sitting.

"I think we need to discuss this..."

"No. Not now. I need time. Time to think." she says before turning and walking away.

I turn around and see Bill and Chavo looking at me in concern.

"I’m fine." I lie.

I tell them I will see them tonight at the arena as I go into the hotel to find Nash

I decide not to speak to Nash and to go up to my hotel room and try to rest before heading to the arena.

I step in the elevator and let out a sigh as I lean against one of the walls. Torrie and Stacy are also in the elevator.

"You look tired." Torrie tells me.

"I am." I say with a weak smile.

The elevator stops and I get out and head down the hall to my room.

I unlock the hotel room and lay my sunglasses on the dresser as I walk by it. I go over to where my black duffel bag is in the corner of the room and pull a huge white T-shirt out. I unzip my silver bathing suit and step out of it. I put T-shirt on and place the suit in the duffel bag. I then pull my bedspread down and fix the pillows. Feeling sleepy, I decided to lay down and relax. Fighting with Tylene always wears me out, and today by the pool was no different. Tossing and turning, I soon feel asleep wondering what to do about the situation with Ty,

~*~

After two hours of rest, I woke up, and throw the covers off of me. I open up my big black suitcase and pull out a pair of extremely short cut offs and a tight camouflage top.

I head into the bathroom, and turn on the shower water. I take off my oversized T-shirt, and purple thong and step into the shower. While in the shower, my mind drifts back to a day when all of us were sitting at a pool at some hotel.

"I want to have kids some day." Torrie says.

"Well not right now I hope." Stacy tells her as she holds Torrie's hand.

The six of us giggle.

"I want a baby." Tylene says in a small far away voice.

"You do?" Vanessa says.

Tylene nods. "But I just wish I didn't have to go through the trials and tribulations of pregnancy to do so."

"Well, how you going to have a baby then?" Sharmell asks.

Tylene shrugs. "Just wishful thinking I guess."

I finish washing my hair and it hits me. The way to get Tylene back. I turn off the water and begin drying off and getting dressed. I only have a half hout to get to the arena, and I'm riding with the Outsiders.

I grab my sunglasses and my room key and leave the hotel room

The Outsiders and I arrive to the arena and I get out and walk briskly towards the arena doors.

"Where you going?" Nash yells.

"The MIA and I have to go over our battle with Team Canada tonight." I tell them as I continue walking.

But the MIA/Team Canada match is the farthest things from my mind at the moment. I realized the way to get Tylene back and right now that is the only thing that matters.

~*~

I walk in the MIA locker room, Bill, Jerry, Chavo, and Mark are all in the room already.

"Are you sure you don't mind this? You know this match will put you against Tylene?" Bill asks me.

"Yeah, the two of you didn't exactly look like you were getting along." Chavo interjected.

I nod my head as I bend down to tie my boots.

I know the ring is still in my jacket pocket. But now is not the right time. I would have to wait till later. I have a strong feeling that my plan would work.

I look up at my stable members and stare at them quietly for a minute.

"I'm going to have a baby." I blurt out.

"Excuse me?'" Jerry says.

Chavo and Mark both give me a funny look as Bill begins to laugh.

"You? A mother?" Bill howls with laughter.

I roll my eyes and look over at him.

"I thought you didn't like kids." Chavo says.

"I don't." I tell them as I put on my lipstick.

"Ok, I'm confused. You don't like kids, but you are going to have one." Mark says.

"Yes."

"Why?"

"To get Ty back. That's why. Today, while I was getting ready to come here I remembered that just a few weeks ago she said that she wanted a baby, but she didn't want to be pregnant to have one. And now that she is angry with me, I figured this is the best way to get her back."

"So she doesn't know about this?"

"No, it's going to be a surprise."
