I was most impressed by your site - I found it via Webcrawler when looking for "visitor attractions"+Highlands so was somewhat surprised ! I had to have a look as I only a few months ago had to throw away a blue cap I used for golfing that had "Malawi, the warm heart of Africa" that I bought in Blantyre in 1974 - 24 years ago! I used to live in Blantyre and was Assistant Manager at Ryalls Hotel for a short time in 1974.

Malawi sounds lovely, I hope to see it soon.

Missionaries who are leaving to live in Lilongwe, Malawi next month.

As I read the message that I just sent, I noticed a significant mistake. We taught at Likune from 1964 to 1967. (Not in the '90s but in the '60s.)

My wife and I taught school (as missionaries) at Likuni Boys Secondary School from 1994 to 1997. We plan to visit Likuni and Lilongwe in August of 1999 and would like to make contaact with someone at either place. Anyone there that wishes to respond, please do so at cttimpe@home.com.

I really like what you have done for Malawi, my homeland. I got excited with Chichewa you have written in. I miss talking Chichewa with someone. Your pictures made me remember of home. My wife and I visited Malawi for two months on a IESC volunteer assignment in the summer of 1994. Loved the people and their country.

I used to live in Blantyre and I'm looking for Paul, or James, or Ben, or Daniel, who also lived in Blantyre.

I served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Malawi for two years, and my husband was a V.S.O. Volunteer in Malawi for 15 months...we have very special memories of 'The Warm Heart of Africa,' and look forward to returning to Malawi for a visit as soon as possible! Malawi is the most magical place on earth.

Go to Nkata Bay and visit the carving stall at the corner of the market. It's a cool place.

Am now an occupational safety consultant. Visited Malawi 1/79 through 3/79 while working for Standard Commercial Tobacco. Lived at Captal Hotel in Lilongwe and have the fondest memories of the land and especially the people. Visited Kasungu, Blantyre, Lake Malwi, Mulanji, and many more areas. Would love to return one day with my wife so she too could experience the pleasure of Malawi. Zikomo!

Hi...what a surprise. I was born, bred,belong and will return to Malawi. With my English wife and expectant twins. I want to know if anyone else was at St. Andrews 1970-73. Names - the Mavians, Frank Humphrey Gascoine (remember him - I met him in London. Married now, lovely Scottish wife, terrible cook! Sally Attridge? I used to fantasise about her when I was 14. Maths teacher LGWP Jones? And Mr. Grant - geography teacher. Hated my guts cos I was non white. Oh, and Mrs. Mullen. Now there was a teacher! You got less than an A and believe me there was no reason for you to be alive - in her eyes. Mr. Watkins who was carrying on with a teacher in the library. Remember the Borgsteins - the doctors, I should say. Yup - 7 sons, 5 doctors and one of them had the cheek to marry my sister, Bernie! Whatever happened to racial separation? Well, they're in London too with a couple of kids. Who else? Bernie is in touch with Denise Kekwick, daughter of the French teacher there. Also in touch with the Pallases - Sabrina - Debbie is back in Malawi. See you soon, girl! I am a nyasanetter who dropped by to see what the page was about. I admire what I've seen and think it's a great idea. My background: Having been born in Malawi, we [family] left for Ghana in 1966 and consequently I was brought up all over the place because of my Dad's work [diplomatic service then the UN]. I studied law to M.Phil level at the university of Sussex then the London School of Economics. I am currently recovering from a brain haemorrhage/ stroke, which is the main reason that I tend to 'lurk' on nyasanet rather than contribute. it is good to find something on malawi.i went home in the summer of 97. there was major reconstruction going on to the roads which made the traffic conjested.however this was for the best as my parents inform me .now malawi's roads are better. i think a giant step for malawi is addition of a new radio station, the music is great (baring in mind that we do get music a little later than other countries) and they have assorted programs which in the long run i feel will benefit the rural areas as now there is a choice of two stations for information. i miss home anyone who has gone home or just wants to talk about malawi write in. p.s this page is brilliant.

It seems like a long time since i visited, I was born in Malawi and it is nice to see it even from afar again, If Kathy Chisala (as was)reads this how are you doing message me back!

Muli Bwanji?. I am geologist and surveyor. I´ve worked in Malawi in 1991 and 1992 as a surveyor under ESCOM¨s Rural Electrification Project. Among this work was the surveing of 600 km. of power lines, mainly all of them in the Southern Region. During that time I lived in such diferent places as Blantyre, Ntcheu, Mangochi, Lilongwe, Liwonde, etc., and I want to say that I´ve likely seen so friendly and gently people in my life. I miss malawians very much (ˇincluding driversˇ), we laughed a lot together many times, and I miss Malawi also, with his Lake, Mulanje, Zomba, the chambo,...., and a special tomato soup that I tasted many times in Blantyre and nobody writes about it.

Its nice guys keep it up. Is this page intended for friends of Malawi or just a list of users ? or a lsist of Malawians
