James Anderson Allen was born June 17, 1836 in Hancock, GA, and died 11 May, 1910 in Birmingham, AL. He married (1) Mary Alston Robinson on December 5, 1865 in Robinson Springs, AL, daughter of Raymond Robinson and Elizabeth H. May. She was born in 1844 in Robinson Springs, Autauga Co., AL, and died in 1870 in Montgomery, AL. He married (2) Ida Watkins on January 18, 1872 in Jefferson Co., AL; and (3) Susan Jane Kerr, daughter of William Kerr and Susan Spence. She was born December 19, 1846 in Emmelle, Sumter Co., AL and died January 18, 1934 in Sumter Co., AL.

2. James Anderson Allen, Jr., born 21 July, 1879, Birmingham, AL., died 19 December, 1958 Birmingham, AL. He married Carrie Day, 17 December, 1917.
Claude Alston Allen, son of James and Mary Robinson Allen was born December 11, 1866 in Montgomery, AL, and died January 18, 1937 in Miami FL. He married 18 October, 1888 in Birmingham, Jefferson Co., AL, to Mary Fairfax Sherrod daughter of Frederick Sherrod and Amy Davis. She was born June 19, 1869 in Birmingham, and died 4 November, 1897 in Birmingham.
Children of Claude Allen and Mary Sherrod are:
1. Amie Marie Allen, born 25 July, 1889, Birmingham, AL; died 24 February, 1950 in Kirkwood MO. She is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery in Kirkwood. She married Frank Raymond Finkenaur on September 21, 1922 at the Little Church Around the Corner in New York City, son of Eugene Finkenaur and Sarah Brady. He was born May 22, 1897 in Macon, Georgia and died February 20, 1982 in Connecticut.
