KOLKIRI FOREST

LINK'S OBJECTIVES

1.Talk to Saria 2.Collect Rupiees 3.Find the Kolkiri Sword 4.Find the Deku Shield 5.Obtain the Piece of Heart on the shop's Roof

You must have the The Kolkiri Sword and the Deku Shield in order for Mido to allow you access to the Deku Tree.

The Kolkiri Sword is located on the bottom of the map in a through crawl space. Avoid the large boulder by running behind it. The sword is in the big chest at the very bottom of the map.

Purchase a shield from from the shop for 40 rupiees.

To get to the lost entrance to the Lost Woods simply climb the vines on the side of the cliff behind the house where the guy is pulling on the rocks. There is also a blue rupee directly behind this house.

Get 30 rupees by running straight accross the three blocks with squares on them in the stream.

Heart Container Piece - Located on top of the house nearest to the entrance to the lost woods. Jump from the cliff to the roof.

Did you know? - You can slash the signs and break 'em.

INSIDE THE DEKU TREE

LINK'S OBJECTIVES

1.Obtain the Slingshot, Compass, Map 2.Defeat Gohma

Climb the ladder near the entrance, follow the path to the chest with the map in it.

Remember you can climb walls that look like they have vines on them.

Use the slingshot to kill the Skulltula Spiders, open the door with the eye above it, and to knock the ladder off of the wall in the room in which it is found.

Use Deku Sticks to light torches by passing fire from one torch to another. To prevent losing Deku Sticks press "A" before the stick burns out.

To break through the webbing on the first floor, climb to the third floor and jump outward toward the heart floating in the air. You will plunge downward toward the web and break it.

In the room you fall into after breaking through the web, there is a torch. Light a Deku Stick and carry it over to the wall with the spider web on it and light it on fire. This will allow you access to the door. If you fall into the deeper water you will have to start over.

In the room with the platform and a rolling spiked log, dive into the water to activate a submerged switch.

In the room with the three Deku Scrubs (Leafy guys that spit Deku Nuts) remember to reflect their Nuts in 2-3-1 order. This means you hit the second guy first, the third guy second, and the first guy on the left last. Remember to talk to him when leaves his hole.

When you see a block and a groove, push the block into the water, then jump across and light a Deku Stick, jump back and light the web on the floor to get to the second floor basement.

DEFEATING GOHMA

After defeating the three Deku Scrubs enter the chamber where Gohma is. Use the top "C" button to look around at the ceiling. When you are spotted the attack will comence. When Gohma is on the ground break a Deku Nut infront of it and slash it with the sword. It will drop three baby Gohmas. Destroy these and Gohma will return to the floor. Use the same Deku Nut then slash technique until the giant spider is vanquished. You will receive the Spiritual Stone and a Heart Container.

HYRULE CASTLE and MARKET

From the Kolkiri Village you will travel across a bridge and talk with Saria again. She gives you the Fairy Ocarina and teaches you her song. After leaving the Kolkiri Village you will enter Hyrule Field. You should go directly to the Castle, but you may want to stop at Lon Lon Ranch to look around. If it turns to nighttime while you are wandering in the field zombies will emerge. Two hits defeats them. During the night the drawbridge to the Castle and Town will be retracted. You will have to wait until morning to enter.

LINK'S OBJECTIVES IN THE MARKET

1.Talk to Malon 2.Return the White Dog to its owner in the Alley for Heart Container Piece 3.Obtain a Mask From the Mask Shop

POINTS OF INTEREST

1.Temple of Time 2.Mask Shop 3.Bombchu Shop 4.Potion Shop 5.Shooting Gallery 6.Treasure Chest Contest 7.Bombchu Bowling 8.Bazzar

Located just past the drawbridge is a room full of pots. Break all these to get plenty of rupees and hearts.

The Mask Shop will not be open for business when you first arrive but later in the game it will be.

Selling the Masks - Sell the Keaton Mask to the soldier standing guard near the Gate to Death Mountain Trail. Sell the Skull Mask to the dancing man in the lost woods. Sell the Spooky mask to the kid in walking around in the Graveyard. Sell the Bunny Ears mask to the running man in Hyrule Field. Keep the Mask of Truth. You can't sell any of the other masks. (that I know of).

During the Night find the white dog behind the stand where all the people were gathered around in the day. It will follow you. If you take it to the woman in the alley she will give you a Heart Container Piece.

LINK'S OBJECTIVES AT HYRULE CASTLE

1.Get the egg from Malon. 2.Avoid the Guards 3.Wake up Talon 4.Infiltrate Castle 5.Meet Zelda 6.Learn Zelda's Lulliby (Important) and Get her Letter. 7.Enter the secret Great Fairy's Cave.

You must get caught by the guards once in order to be kicked out of the castle and meet Malon. She will give you the weird egg. Use the weird egg to wake Talon when you see him.

The best path through the castle grounds without being caught is:

Climb the vine on the wall next to Malon. Walk past the castle gate and jump onto the path. Turn left down the path then cut across the lawn behind the two soldiers keeping watch and in front of the other pair. Keep moving to the northwest until you encounter another wall with vines on it. Climb that wall and jump into the moat. Swim in the moat until you reach a small triangular landing. Get out of the water and follow the path to the door. You will not be able to open the door. Talon may be there sleeping. If you waited until morning for the weird egg to hatch you can show him the chicken and he will wake up. After he is gone, move the blocks in the groove so that they fall into the water and stack on top of each other. Climb the blocks and jump onto the far ledge with the water trickling out. Crawl into the passage. you must enter the passage durning the day or you will not be able to continue further. If it is daytime, you will see soldiers patrolling the grounds. Avoid the soldiers by hiding behind bushes, ledges, fountains, etc. It's best not to try to get the rupees between the two hedges. You will most likely get caught. Once you enter the castle you will meet Zelda.

You may notice a boulder sitting in a dead end past the castle entrance gate. When you have bombs, destroy the boulder and you will open up a passageway to The Great Fairy of Courage. She will give you Din's Fire. Later on you can enter the cave to refill your energy.

After you learn the Song of Storms go to the tree by the corner of the fence where you just get out of the moat. Play it there and a secret cave will open. I think there is a Gold Skulltula in there.

THE LOST WOODS

LINK'S OBJECTIVES

1.Obtain Hear Container Piece from dancing Man 2.Obtain the Bullet Bag 3.Purchase Ability to Hold More Deku Sticks 4.Shoot target hanging in tree to gain ability to get the Bullet Bag. 5.Plant Magic Bean in square of soft earth.

The correct path through the Lost Woods to the Sacred Forest Meadow is: Right, Left, Right, Left, Straight, Left, Right.

There is a Warp to Goron's City in the Lost Woods.

When you have bombs blow up conspicuous boulders to reveal hidden chambers underground.

Heart Container Piece - When you learn Saria's Song play it on the stump in front of the dancing man he will reward you with a heart container piece.

THE SACRED MEADOW

LINK'S OBJECTIVES

1.Find the secret room with the purple rupee. 2.Learn Saria's Song

Once you learn Saria's Song you will be able to contact her anytime during the game.

HYRULE FIELD

Bash into many of the tall trees to reveal items. The Brown trees almost always have something in them or near them under the ground.

Blow up boulders to reveal hidden caves.

Heart Container Piece - There is a secret chamber underneath the ground in the square of fences before Lake Hylia. You will find a deku scrub inside. When you get him out of his hole he will sell you a Piece of Heart for 10 rupees.

LON LON RANCH

Heart Container Piece - If you move the boxes around in the room with the two cows in it, you will reveal a small passageway leading to a chamber with a Heart Container Piece in it.

Later on in the room with all the chickens in it you will be able to play a find the super cuckoo game. If you find all his super cuckoos in the time alloted he will give you a bottle of milk.

There is a Gold Skulltula on the window of Talon's house at night.

If you bash the tree by Talon's house a Gold Skulltula will fall out.

KAKARIKO VILLAGE

LINK'S OBJECTIVES

1.Put all the wandering Cuccos into Cucco Lady's Pen. 2.Drain the Well. (after 7 years) 3.Present Zelda's Letter to the Guard.

Heart Container Piece - To get the Heart Container Piece inside the cage with the cow in it you must go all the way up to the top of Death Mountain and get the owl to ride you back Kakariko Village. He will put you on top of the house that had the cow and heart container piece. Drop down to the landing over the Cucco Pen and there will be a small door there.

To drain the well you must play the Song of Storms in front of the Music Man inside the windmill.

There is a gold Skulltula on the tower in the center of town at night.

Located just past the tree with the circle of weeds around it is a small field of grass. Bomb here to reveal a secret passage. There are two zombies inside. Defeat the zombies and a chest with a "Huge Rupee" will appear. It is worth two hundred rupees. Too bad video gamer X already had 200 rupees when he found it.

THE GRAVEYARD

1.Obtain the Melody of the Sun 2.Play the Digging Game at night.

At the top most point of the graveyard (The Area Where it is Raining) there is a secret room under the Royal Family Tomb. To enter you must play Zelda's Lulliby in front of it. A lightning bolt will destroy the tomb and leave behind a gaping hole.

DEATH MOUNTAIN TRAIL

LINK'S OBJECTIVES

1.Open Dodongo's Cavern 2.Meet with the Great Fairy. 3.Blow up The Boulders to reveal Hidden Areas. 4.

There are a bunch of boulder just past the flag that are blocking the path to the top of death mountain, use bombs to destroy these. There is a boulder on a ledge just past these that will reveal a secret chamber with recovery hearts, rupees, and a cow.

There is a hidden cave just before the entrance to the Goron City. There is a fairy pool inside.

The Great Fairy of Power is inside a hidden cave right next to the entrance to the volcano on Death Mountain. She will give you a more powerful spin attack.

To open Dodongo's Cavern you must toss a bomb from the upper level to the cave entrance below. If you aim properly you will destroy the stone obstructing his cavern.

There are at least four Gold Skulltulas scrittering around at night in this region.

GORON CITY

To get the Goron's Bracelet play Saria's Song for king Darunia and he will give it to you.

Heart Container Piece - Light all the torches with a deku stick in front of the entrance to Darunia's Throne Room to cause the big pot in the center of the courtyard to spin. Go up to a higher level and throw a bomb into the pot to make it stop spinning and reveal a Heart Container Piece.

LAKE HYLIA

There is a Gold Skulltula on one of the two small pillars where you get the Fire Arrow at night.

GERUDO VALLEY

Heart Container Piece - Use the chicken to float over to the platform with the crate on it. Smash the crate to reveal a heart container piece.

Use the chicken to float down to the cliff at the bottom of the ravine with a Magic Bean planting spot, a cow, and a man. I don't remember if the chicken was available earlier in the game, but it was there when I went back to Gerudo later.

ZORA'S RIVER

Heart Container Piece - If you carry the chicken all the way to the piece of land near the waterfall by the second Heart Contaner Piece in Zora's River you can float over to it. The trick to keeping the chicken since you can't climb while your holding a chicken is to throw it onto the platforms that Link needs to climb then climb onto the area then pick up the chicken again.

Just near the aforementioned Heart Contaner Piece is a gold Skulltula on a ladder at night.

There is a warp to the Lost Woods right near the waterfall.

As you explore the river you will notice a couple of logs in the water. If you stand at the end of the water a message about frogs staring at you in the water will come up. If you take out the ocarina they will jump out of the water and for each note you play a frog will jump out of the water. If you play a song for them they will reward you with something. Here is a list of what they give you.

1.Zelda's Lulliby - 50 Rupees 2.Saria's Song - 50 Rupees 3.The Song of Time - 50 Rupees 4.Bolero of Fire - Nothing 5.The Sun's Song - Frog's Grow Bigger, 50 Rupees 6.Epona's Song - 50 Rupees 7.Minuet of Forest - Nothing 8.Prelude of Light - Nothing 9.Song of Storms - Heart Container Piece 10.Serenade of Water - Nothing

Help the frogs catch the bugs and you will get another Heart Container Piece.

If you fall into the river you will collect many rupees.

You must play Zelda's Lulliby in front of the waterfall in order to pass further.

ZORA'S DOMAIN

If you turn left in king Zora's Room you will encounter a zora that will ask you to play a diving game. Play the game and get all the rupees in the time alloted and you will be rewarded with a silver scale.

There is a warp to Lake Hylia under the water. You must have the silver scale in order to reach it.

Heart Container Piece - If you light all the torches going from Zora's Room, to the next torch down the path, to the one in front of the store, and the one in the lake, then the final two behind the waterfall a chest will appear containing a Heart Container Piece. If one burns out you will have to go back and relight it.

INSIDE JABU-JABU

Since many people are having difficulty completing the Jabu Jabu section Video Gamer X will skip ahead in his walkthrough to this part of the game. Jabu-Jabu will not open his mouth unless you have a fish. To get a fish you can either purchase one from the store in Zora's Domain, The Market, or get one for free in a hidden cave underneath a boulder located near the drawbridge. You must use a bomb to destroy the boulder. Use a bottle to catch a fish that is swimming in a puddle. Take the fish to Jabu-Jabu. He will suck you inside.

LINK'S OBJECTIVES

1.Use Princess Ruto to weight down switches. 2.Obtain the Map. 3.Obtain the Compass. 4.Obtain the boomerang. (Very Useful in this Level)

In the first room you must shoot the yellow thing on the ceiling with your slingshot to open the door.

Approach Princess Ruto and let her fall through the hole. Talk to her then carry her.

In the room with the strange fish that attack you when they are touched you must first throw Ruto on the other ledge then hit the switch to raise the water.

Use Ruto and Link's weight combined to open the switch by the electric tenticles that emerge from the ground.

To activate a switch when Princess Ruto is gone grab the crate and place it on the switch to keep the door open.

In the room with a bunch of Jelly Fish (Biri) there is a platform where these is a transparent membrane or web blocking your ability to hit the switch on the ceiling. To hit the switch you will have to lock onto in with "Z" and position Link so that he can throw the boomerang freely. The boomerang will go around the barrier and hit the switch with ease. The key is getting Link on the left edge of the platform, and keeping him at attention on the switch. This will open the door to the Boss' Room.

DEFEATING BARANADE

The Bio-Electric Anemone Baranade is more bark than bite. The boomerang is vital to defeating it. Lock onto electric tenticles with "Z" and destroy those with the boomerang. Lock on to the center and attack it with the boomerang. Remember to keep moving in order to avoid the electric shocks. When it turns a blueish-purple color then slash at it with your sword as fast as possible. Repeat as necessary. When you defeat the baranade you will get a Heart Container and will meet up with princess Ruto who will give you the final spiritual stone.

7 Y E A R S L A T E R

LON LON RANCH

Getting the horse - Ahh, Yes, the top request among fans who visit this site is "How do I get the Horse?" Well, it's real easy. Go to Lon Lon Ranch and talk with Ingo. He will ask you to pay 10 rupees to ride the horses. Give him the rupees then while your in the corral play Epona's Song on the Ocarina. Epona will walk up. Get on the horse and then walk up to Ingo and talk to him again. He will ask you if you want to race and wager 50 rupees on it. Respond yes to this, and you will begin the race. Beat him twice and he will give you Epona. The problem is, he wont let you out of the ranch. You will have to jump over the fence blocking your way out of Lon Lon Ranch. You now have the Horse. You're welcome, to the myriads who asked about it on 11/28-11/30

HYRULE FIELD

You will find a hidden cave with a Gold Skulltula inside, across the bridge and just to the right of the Ganon's Castle/Market area next to a green tree. Video Gamer X used the Megaton Hammer to smash it open, but didn't try bombs.

There are many hidden caves scattered across Hyrule Field, to find them you can either discover them with the Stone of Agony, Lift rocks, play the Song of Storms. Inside you may find, Gold Skulltulas, Rupees, Gossip Stones, Heart Container Pieces, Deku Scrubs who sell you something, cows, butterflies (which can turn into faries with a Deku Stick).

THE GRAVEYARD

Heart Container Piece - If you planted a Magic Bean in the soft soil when you were a kid there will be a magic plant that will lift you to the ledge where the unreachable crate is. Break open the crate to reveal a Heart Container Piece.

There is a hidden chamber underneath the tombstone with the red flowers just past the big sign in front of the grave yard. There is a Fairy Fountain inside as well.

To open the hidden entrance to Dampe's Labyrinth you must pull on the gravestone with the red flowers in front of it in the left most group of grave stones.

To get the Hookshot you must race dampe's ghost through the corridors of his underground labyrinth. Dodge his fires and you will make a good time.

After racing Dampe' the gravedigger's ghost in his underground grave your path will be blocked by a large stone with a sun on it. Play the melody of Time on the ocarina to make it disappear. This will give you acces to the windmill and a Heart Container Piece

KAKARIKO VILLAGE

If you bash into the tree with the plants around it you will cause a Gold Skulltula to fall out.

To Learn the Song of Strorms talk to the Music Man inside the Windmill. Show him the Ocarina. He will say that you played it years ago, but you never did, did you? Or maybe you did? It's that temporal thing, gets complicated. Ask Einstein about it some time.

Travel back in time via the Temple of Time and go back to the Music Man. Play the Song of Storms in front of him. The windmill will start spinning out of control and the Well will be drained.

Now enter the well as a child and you will be in the Well Dungeon.

THE BOTTOM OF THE WELL

Enter the crawlspace in the first chamber. In the next chamber kill the spider and go directly through the wall at the back.

Near a couple wooden beams there is an area to bomb.

In the room with all the coffins in it, light the switches to open the coffins. There is a small key located in the first one to your right.

When you arrive at a section where there is a head and a pair of hands with a triforce symbol on the floor, play Zelda's Lulliby in order to cause the water to go down.

The Lens of Truth is located beyond a crawlspace only accessable after you drain the water.

Before you get the Lens of Truth you will have to defeat a zombie with arms that come out of the ground and attempt to suck the life out of you. Just slash at the arms, then when you get a clear shot, hit the zombie with a flurry of sword slashes until he disappears again.

In the same room you fough the zombie there will be a chest containing a golden rupee (200 ct.) in it. You can only see it with the Lens of Truth.

Beyond a locked door is a Gold Skulltulla, there is an invisible ledge on the right side of this room.

ZORA'S RIVER

Heart Container Piece - Where you planted the Magic Bean next to the Bean Seller when you were a kid will be a magic plant. Ride the plant around to get the heart container on the seemingly unreachable pedistal in the River. You will have to time it properly to make the jump.

Heart Container PieceIf you planted a Magic Bean next to entrance to Dondongo's Dungeon in the past you will be able to ride the Magic Plant to the the nitch where the Heart Container Piece is stashed.

THE SACRED FOREST MEADOW

You must use the hookshot in order to enter the Forest Temple by grappling onto the tree branch overhanging the entrance.

Mido will not let you pass deeper into the lost woods unless you play Saria's Song in front of him.

To get past the giant with the club blocking the Forest Temple you must watch the direction that the giant is going to club the ground and move to the other side to avoid the shockwave.

THE FOREST TEMPLE

LINK'S OBJECTIVES

1.Obtain the Map, Fairy Bow, Compass, Boss Key, and Small Keys. 2.Make the Four Ghosts Appear over the torches in the Main Room. 3.Use The Fairy bow to trigger switches.

In the room to the northwest of the main area where the four ghosts were there are some vines you can climb. You can avoid being knocked off of them by killing the Skulltula Spiders with the Hookshot. You may not be able to reach the highest one though.

After the room with the Map in it, there is a balcony overlooking the room below. Stand on top of the railing and jump to the other balcony. Push the switch and you will drain the water out of the well. Enter the well and you will find a key.

In the Forest Temple there is a high room with arrows and blocks, push or pull the blocks in the direction of the arrows until they fall into the hole.

If you kill the hand that falls from the ceiling in the room after the twisty corridor you will get lots of rupees, sometime five or six red ones.

In the Forest Temple Make sure you climb the vines in the very first room, then use the hookshot to grapple onto the chest with the key in it on the other tree branch. The Gamer X didn't even notice the vines on the wall until he walked around in circles through the Temple looking for another key to open the door after the twisty corridor.

In order to defeat both Stafos in the room where you get the bow you must kill the other one before it resurrects. When they are defeated you will get the Fairy Bow.

Use the Fairy Bow to shoot at the pictures of ghosts on the Wall.

To the Ghosts with the torches, Lock on with "Z" and Hold out your shield. The torch will bounce off and the ghost will appear, this is the time when you slash it. Repeat until defeated. The ghost will leave behind some arrows and make a chest with a key in it appear.

Use the Fairy Bow to hit the eye switches and straighten out the twisty corridors.

After the twisty corridor is straightened out go to the room with the multi-colored chest in it and open it. You will get a "Boss Key" to pen the chamber where the Boss is.

If you shoot the yellow eye in the tall room with the ladder, arrows, blocks, etc. a chest will fall from the ceiling containing a bundle of arrows.

In the main room with all the doors and four unlit torches shoot the eye above the sealed door to open it.

Make sure you keep going in the room where you first saw the stafos knights and breaking the pots for a fairy. This will prevent you from completly dying.

After you straighten out the first twisty corridor fall through the hole on the room where the "Boss Key" was. Fight the two flaming skull heads and the door will open. You now have access to that ledge overlooking the room with the Octorock, Giant Deku Plant, Little bridge, and river. Don't forget to kill the gold skulltula crawling on the wall near the pillars with the two recovery hearts on it.

In the first room to your right on that ledge after you kill that big Deku Plant (The plant that chomps at you) there will be a hand that you have to fight. You can't damage it when it is green. Slash at it with your sword. It will break apart into three small hands. Kill these and chest will appear containing another small key.

Go back onto the ledge and enter the door to your right. (It will be to your right as you exit the "Big Hand" room.) This leads back to the tall room with the arrows and blocks.

In order to access the door to the first two ghosts you must leave the first twisty corridor twisty. (That sounded strange didn't it) When you defeat the ghost with the blue flame you will get the compass. Open the locked door that is upstairs from the compass room. This will lead to another twisty room (not corridor). Continue forward. Kill the flying green flame ghosts, open the locked door, (You should have one key left.) and enter the room with the rotating platforms.

There is a switch that is iced over in the room with the rotating platforms. Position yourself so that you can shoot an arrow through the flame and into the iced over eye switch. This will cause the twisty corridor (which was straight) to turn twisty.

Fall through the hole in the twisty room and you will end up in a large corridor with a falling roof. Step on the switch to open the door.

There will be a room with five blocks and the picture of a ghost on them. You will have to assemble the blocks into the right image before you can continue further. Once the picture of the ghost (Amy) is aligned correctly then it will appear. Fight the ghost just like the other ones and the door will open. Enter the big room where the four torches are and there will be a final purple flame ghost.

The ghost will duplicate into four copies. Shoot the ghosts with your Fairy Bow. The one that spins is the one you attack. After you defeat it an elevator will appear. After you go down the elevator there will be a room with several exits. You must grab onto the wall in certain locations to make the room move. Push in a diagonal direction with the control stick. Once you push down the three switches the bars blocking the door to the Boss' Lair will be gone.

DEFEATING EVIL PHANTOM GANNONDORF

Phantom Ganon will come out of the picture and try to attack you with bolts of energy. Shoot him with the Fairy Bow while he is in the picture. On of the Ganon's is an illusion and the bolts really hurt so be careful. After about four hits from the arrow his horse will disappear and he will float around the room and try to blast you with bolts of energy. When he twirls his staff he will be shooting the energy that can be reflected back at him. Use the sword and reflect the energy back at him. Be careful because he can reflect it back too. When he's on the ground hit him as many times as possible. After defeating the Phantom Gannondorf the real Ganon will contact you and say that your skills are getting better but when you fight him it won't be so easy. You will get a heart container

After you defeat Phantom Ganon you will be teleported to the Realm of Sages where you will see Saria. She is the Sage of the Forest Temple. She will give you the Forest Medallion. "Saria will allways be your friend..."

At this point in the game you can return to The Temple of Time and meet Shiek again. He will tell you that you can use the Master Sword to travel though time. He will also teach you the Prelude of Light. This will give immediate access to the temple of Time. This is a good chance to go back to when you were a kid again and pick up anything you may have missed. Remember to plant the Magic Beans where the squares of soft soil are so that a plant will be there in the future. You might want to backtrack through some dungeons to see if you missed a Skulltula or two.

DEATH MOUNTAIN CRATER

Heart Container Piece - In Death Mountain Crater there is a heart container piece in the middle of a wall you can climb on. You don't have to get rid of the rock on the ledge near the other ledge with the ladder by the heart container piece. Just get next to the rock and jump, you will make it. Climb the ladder. Approach the edge of the cliff and you will grip onto the wall. Link should have at least 9 hearts by now. (or be close to getting another heart container)

Heart Container Piece - If you planted a magic seed In Death Mountain Crater next to the triforce symbol a magic plant will be there and it will take you to the area above the lava on the huge smoking rock where there is a Heart Container Piece.

You must have an Adult Goron Tunic in order to enter Death Mountain Crater for an extended period of time. To get the tunic you can either travel back in time and buy one from the shop in the Goron City or you can put a bomb in front of the lonely Goron rolling around in the City. He will give you some information and the Goron Tunic. While you're there don't forget to kill the Gold Skulltula sitting on a part of the small platform suspended by ropes over the City.

When you have the Megaton Hammer break the rock in the circle of stones to reveal a secret cave with a chest of bombs in it. Its not really a big deal but for those of you who want to find every hidden room I figured I'd put it in.

There will be two stones blocking a cave. Break these with the Megaton Hammer to reveal a cave to the Great Fairy of Wisdom, she will increase you total magic by double.

To get across the broken bridge in the Death Mountain Crater you must use the Hookshot to grapple onto the wooden beam overhanging the bridge. Shortly after you do this Shiek will appear and teach you the Bolero of Fire. Use it to warp to Death Mountain Crater anyime.

THE FIRE TEMPLE

Once you enter the Fire Temple, enter the first door to your left. You will encounter Darunia. He will tell you that Ganon is has reawakened some dreaded beast and is going to feed the Gorons to it as an example to others. He asks your help and leaves to go attempt to save his people himself.

On a ledge just to the right of where Darunia was is a switch and an imprisoned Goron. Hit the switch and open the cage. After you talk with him open the chest inside and get a small key. Use it to open the locked door in the room with the three torches and the flaming bats. On the other side of this room is a high ledge four pots on it. These contain bombs and fairies. Use this as a pit-stop if you run out of fairies. You will have to use the hookshot to reach this platform. You can grapple to the small grey pillar with the moon shape on it

After you unlock the door you will be in a room with a broken bridge and a locked door at the other end. There will be moving platforms on the floor. You can jump across the gap in the bridge in case you weren't sure. Jump onto the moving platforms to reach the other parts of the room. If you think your a badass then jump in the lava and walk up to the other platforms. In this room there is a brick landing with a square of bricks on the wall. Use a bomb to blow up the wall and a door will be revealed. Inside is an imprisoned Goron. He will give you a clue about some of the switches needing to be cut. There's another chest inside the cell with a small key in it. There is also another imprisoned Goron and a key on the opposite side of the room from the room you just exited.

Annoyed by Flaming Bats? - Use the Bow and shoot them down. You may not be able to lock on if their far away but if you have good aim you can hit them.

Use the key you just got to open the locked door at the end of the broken bridge. You will be in a room with a chain-link fence and a hole that spews fire in the middle. Climb the exterior of the chain-link to acquire three recovery hearts on the left side. On the other side jump down to the ledge with the block on it and push the block until if falls off the edge on top of the hole that was spewing a flame. Jump on top of the block you just pushed.

You will be shot straight up into another room with a locked door. Once you open the door you will be in a room with an imprisoned Goron in it, and some flaming leech-like things. Across from the platform with the burning leeches is a platform with a switch and a big block. Jump over to the platform and push the block off the edge into the groove. Pull it all the way to the end of the groove. You will have to hit the switch then climb the chain-link fence above the block so you can get in the area where the flames are. You must hit the switch first in order to turn off the flames. Shoot the switch with your Fairy Bow from the second tier of ledges then simply climb onto the upper ledge and onto the chain-link. It's really easy to get disoriented when the game shows the animation of the switch activating so be careful. Video Gamer X almost pulled his hair out when he kept falling off the ledge when the animation was done. If you run out of arrows you can use the Hookshot to hit the switch. This will will lead to a ledge with a door on it.

You will enter a huge room with boulders rolling around in it. Watch out for the camera getting stuck out of view of Link. This room seems to have trouble with the camera angle. Press "Z" to fix it. You should find a switch and an imprisoned Goron. There will also be a Key in his cell. You will find another room with a switch, an imprisoned Goron, and a key. There is a part of this area where you will hear the skrittering of a Gold Skutulla behind a hidden wall. Blow up the wall to get to the gold Skulltula. There is a locked door in rolling boulder room that leads to a room with another locked door, a sealed door and three recovery hearts over a deep pit.

When you open the locked door you will enter a room with an L shaped pathway over the lava leading to chain-link platforms over lava. When you jump onto the platforms a bunch of flames will follow you. As your walking by take notice of the locked door on the elevated landing to your left. At the end of the platforms are some steps that lead to a cage with a big chest containing the map in it. Follow the caged chamber to a door. You will come out in the room with the deep pit underneath. Return to the chain-link platform room and go into the door at the end of the room on the first step of the staircase leading to where the caged map was.

You should be back in the room with the boulders rolling around in it, but this top you are on top of the platforms that you couldn't reach before. Navi will tell you that she hears Goron voices coming from a bumpy part of the platform. Blow a hole in it. The hole will lead to an imprisoned Goron and a Key. It will also open up the way back to the silver switch room and the block. Back in the rolling boulder room push down the switch on the platform and open the Goron cage at the other end of the room. There is a key there too so don't skip it. He will give you a clue about playing the ocarina in regions that you see on the map but can't get to.

Go back into the room with the chain-link platforms and the flames that chase you. Open the locked door that you took note of before. Walk down the hallway, open the door and enter a big chamber that has two rotating fire-spewing blocks. On the floor there is a kind of maze of flames that pop up out of the ground as you walk. At the end of the "maze" are four pots. Walk along the wall or the totem will spew fire at you. The maze will prevent you from getting to one side of the room. Make your way to the locked door and open it. (You should have one key left) You will enter a corridor with an imprisoned Goron in it. Once you open the door at the end of the corridor you will enter the other side of the flame maze that you couldn't get to. Push the switch down to turn off the big flames blocking the doorway to your left. There will be a fake door over the real door. Drop a bomb in front of it to blow it up.

Once you enter the real door you will encounter a flaming enemy (Mid Boss). Drop bombs in front of it to stop it from flying. Slash the enemy when it is on the ground walking around. It will jump back into the flames and start flying again. Repeat the process. The flames keep getting in the way of the camera making it difficult to see the enemy when it is on the ground so be careful. This room is plauged with severe camera angle difficulties. "Z" targeting doesn't help much. You can use the hookshot on it to stop it from spinning if you run out of bombs. When it is defeated the flames in the center of the room will go out and you can stand on the platform.

The platform will take you up to a small room with a door in it. When you go past the door you will be in a room with another silvery switch in it and flames preventing you from climbing a chain-link fence. Climb the wall and from above shoot the switch with the Hookshot or an arrow. Before the flames return climb the chain-link fence and there will be another door to your right.

After you enter the door you will be in a large caverous room with a deep chasm in the middle. There will be a switch you can push down, a curved staircase leading to a ledge, and a bunch of flames surrounding a treasure chest on that ledge. Push down the switch and walk carefully up the staircase. Video Gamer X made it on the first try and didn't fall into the chasm so I don't know what happens if you fall in there. If you make it in time you will get the Megaton Hammer. You will see a block with a face on it sticking partway out of the ground. Use the Megaton Hammer to smash it down. Fall through the hole you just made and you will enter a room with a short totem in the corner. Use the Megaton Hammer to bash it out of the way and reveal a door.

You will now be in a room with two small crates in the corner. two torches and a shallow pit with a short pillar at the front of it. If you pound the top of the little pillar with the Megaton Hammer the shallow pit will turn into a staircase. At the bottom of the staircase there will be a switch to open a door right in front of it but you will have to weigh it down with something. Go grab one of the crates from the corner of the room and put it on the switch. You will now be in a room just above the big room with the fire maze from before. There will be a block with a face on it in the room. Use the Megaton Hammer to smash it down to the room below.

After you fall into the room with the fire maze again, Climb the block onto the ledge with the rusted switch. Use the Megaton Hammer to pound it down, and the door will open.

You will now be in the room with the passageway between the two sections of the fire-maze room below you. There will be a block across on the other side of the passage-way. Take out the ocarina and play the Song of Time and the block will disappear and move to ground inside the passageway. There will be another rusty switch on the other side. Pound it down with the Megaton Hammer. It will open up an imprisoned Goron cell down in the passageway. He gives you a hint that there is a door near the entrance to the Temple that cannot be opened with bombs. Open the chest in this room to get a small key.

Rather than walk through the entire Temple to get to the first room, play the Bolero of Fire to get to the entrance and reenter the Temple from there. This might be a good time to stock up on faries and items in that first room from the beginning.

When you back in the first room of the Temple smash the totem on the right side of the stairway to reveal a locked door. When you open the door you will you will enter a room with some flaming bats and fire-leeches in it. Kill all these to open the door at the other end.

Once your in the next room, the floor will assail you with tiles, (Reminds me of "Link to the Past") After the floor tile stop attacking you there will be a creature at the back of the room that looks like it has some kind of scolix or sucking mouth. Curiosity will not be rewarded in this instance. It will suck you inside and take your shield and clothes. (No Link's not naked, but rather back to the green tunic.) Kill the thing to get your stuff back. After it is gone make sure to kill the Gold Skulltula on the wall.

Open the door on the left of the room, you will have to fight another one of those spinning flame enemies. This time use the Megaton Hammer to stop it from spinning. (I've got to say the camera in these rooms, sucks! Trying to hit the thing when it is behind orange flames is virtually impossible.) When you do defeat it, a chest will appear. It will have bombs in it. The door on the other side of this room will be unsealed now so you can open it, Unlock the entrapped Goron and get the "Boss Key"

Go back out into the first room of the Temple and then into the room with the broken bridge, moving platforms, flaming bats, etc. Go to the door with the big blue block above it. Stand on the ledge closest to the lava and play the Song of Time. Climb the block and enter the door that it had been hiding.

You will now be in a room with another angry floor and sucker-thing. The floor will start hurling tiles at you. There is a Gold Skulltula in this room at the back by the sucker-thing.

Now go all the way back to the flaming maze room, (You should know where this is by now) Stand on the big pillar/platform in the center of the room and pound down the block in the middle. This will cause an emense pillar to fall into a hole on the first floor, by where you first saw Daruina, a.k.a. the Fairy fill up room. Fall through a hole where you pounded the pillar down and you will be on the first floor again in front of a locked door. Open the door and you will be in Volvagia's Lair.

DEFEATING VOLVAGIA

Volvagia will come out of one of the holes in the lava. Use the Megaton Hammer to play the mole game and after he emerges smash him in the head with it. After you do this, while he is on the ground slash at his head with the sword. He will encircle the room and try to burn you with flames. Just keep running in order to avoid the flames. Watch out for the lava holes though. For one of its attacks it will burrow into the ceiling and drop boulders on you. Once you smash and slash him, he will die and leave behind a Heart Container.

Death Mountain will erupt causing all the red clouds to go away and you will warp to the Chamber of Sages. Darunia will be there and tell you that he appreciates what Link did for them. As it turns out he is the great Sage of Fire. He will give you the Medalion of the fire spirits. "Don't forget you and I are now true brothers..."

Once you have the Megaton Hammer you can break those annoying big rocks all over the countryside that couldn't be destroyed with the bombs.

ZORA'S RIVER

Link is now tall enough to reach the ledge by the ladder. Climb the ladder and get rid of the rock to reveal a Fairy Fountain and near this hole is another one on a ledge. Inside there is a red rupee in a chest. (That's pretty anticlimactic at this point in the game) On the wall/cliff face near that hole is a Gold Skulltula at night.

ZORA'S FOUNTAIN

Heart Container Piece - There's a nice and easy heart container piece sitting on an ice block in the middle of Zora's Fountain. (The lake where Jabu-Jabu was.) This one's practically a freebee.

Heart Container Piece - There's another easy one at the bottom of this lake. Use the Iron Boots to retrieve it.

If you lift the rock in front of the Great Fairy's Fountain you will find a hidden passage. There will be invisible spiders in the passage. This will lead to a ledge where there is a Gold Skulltula at night only.

THE ICE CAVERN

To get to the Ice Cavern, climb on the floating pieces of Ice, then jump from the ice to the cave entrance at the north of Zora's Fountain.

You can break the blue icicles with your sword. After you walk down the corridor you will be in a room with four ice statues that blow cold wind and a pointy metal thing moving around the room in a rapid circular path. Hit the ice statues with your sword until they are defeated. When they are all gone the bars blocking the corridor will retract.

Follow the corridor until you come to a room with a slowly spinning propellor-like blade and four (There are actually more than four in the room) silver rupees hanging in the air. There is a gold skulltula just to the left of the entrance to this room. To avoid the blade walk close to its center of rotation. (Its angular velocity is less) Collect all the silver rupees to open the door. (Are these worth anything?)

Go down the corridor into the room with the two moving spiked things and an another frosty ice-air blowing statue. Continue past here and you will be in a room with another sharp-pointy thing rotating around a ledge or platform with a blue flame on it. There will be more of the frosty blowers and red ice. Approach the blue flame and catch some of it inside a bottle. Pour the blue flame out over areas of red ice. Pour it out over the red ice covering the pot and the big chest. You will find a map inside of the big chest.

Go back to the room with the spinning ice propellor-like blade and melt the red ice walls.

One of the openings revealed after melting the red ice will lead to a room with more silver rupees, ice bats, and another blue flame. Don't miss the Gold Skulltula crawling around on the wall. Use your bow to take out the ice-bats. Push on the block in the middle of the room to make it slide over to the pedistals with the silver rupees on them. Slide the block over to the blue flame if you need to and melt the red ice on the other side of the room. This will reveal the final silver rupee and open up the barred entrance.

Once you enter the corridor there will be three red ice crystals, two with pots inside them. Melt them and continue further. You will come into a room with a White Wolf in it. This guy is a cakewalk. Lock on with "Z" and hold out your shield to avoid its attacks. Before it is about to strike give it a slash with the sword. When you defeat it a chest will appear containing the Iron Boots.

Shiek will appear again and tell you that the Zoras are sealed under the ice. He will say that he managed to rescue the Zora Princess but she left for the Water Temple. He says that the monster in the Water Temple is responsible for the curse. He will teach you the Serenade of Water.

Don't forget to backtrack through the Ice Cavern into the other passageway that was by the spining ice propellor. There's a Gold Skulltula and a Heart Container Piece.

Go back to Zora's Domain and Melt the red ice off of king Zora. He will give you a Zora Tunic. You can now go under water for an indefinite period of time.

Just off of the side of the frozen waterfall where the diving game was when you were a kid, there is a Gold Skulltula.

LAKE HYLIA

Heart Container Piece - If you planted a Magic Bean back when you were a kid. You will be able to get onto the roof of the Medicine Man's house and get a Heart Container Piece. Watch out for the birds.

If you sink to the bottom of the Medicine Man's Lakeside Laboratory with the iron boots you will find a Gold Skulltula and 80 rupees.

After you finish the water temple the water level of Lake Hylia will rise and you will then be able to get that Fire Arrow that has been bugging you for seemingly ever. If you don't already know about it. When the morning sun rises shoot at it through the uprights and a Flaming Arrow will appear on the pedistal. Simply swim out to it.

THE WATER TEMPLE LINK'S OBJECTIVES

1.Play Zelda's Lulliby to Raise or Lower Water Level. 2.Use Hookshot to Grapple to Difficult to Reach Places. 3.Put on and take off the Iron Boots as needed. 4.Obtain The Map, Compass, Longshot, and Boss Key

To get inside The Water Temple you will have to use the Iron Boots and the Zora Tunic. To open the entrance to the Temple you must hit the switch above the gate with the hookshot. When you get inside the gate remove the Iron Boots to float to the surface of the water.

If you sink to the bottom of the first big room, down one of the underwater corridors you will encounter Princess Ruto. She will chastize Link for making her wait so long to rekindle their love. She will recount the disaster of the Zoras and say that she's going to save everyone. (If you haven't got past the Water Temple I'll bet you're thinking that Princess Ruto is the Sage of Water.) She asks Link to help her destroy the evil monster in the temple. She tells Link that there are three places in the water temple where the water level can be changed.

Princess Ruto will ask you to follow her. Take off the Iron Boots and float up to the surface of the chamber. Enter the room with metallic spikeys and kill them with the Megaton Hammer. When they are all destroyed open the chest that appears to get the Map.

Throughout the Water Temple in one place or another is an image of the triforce with an inscripion about playing the royal melody. (Zelda's Lulliby)

The Hookshot will be an invaluable tool in the Water Temple. Use it to Grapple onto hooks and kill creatures underwater.

If you dive into a certain corridor you will end up a place where there are three or four fish things and a (seemingly) dead end made of big spikes. Put on the Iron Boots. In this room use the hookshot to grapple onto the ledge above the spike, then aim at the (Hook/Recepticle) furthest away, on the ceiling from Link's position. Once your out of the water you will be in a room with a Treasure Chest surrounded by a stream of water and a switch on the other side of the room. Take off the Iron Boots and stand as close to the treasure chest as possible. Shoot the switch across the room with an arrow. When the stream goes down open the chest. There will be a Compass inside. Jump back into the water, Put on the Iron Boots and get out.

In order to lower the water level in the Temple play Zelda's Lulliby in front of the Triforce Plaques. There is one in the room just before the room you found the map in. When you fall down the hole left after you drain the water you will be in a room with a sealed door a torch and two unlit torches. Stand perpendicular to the lit and unlit torches and use the bow to light the unlit torches. You will have to be quick about it or the other torch will burn out.

Once you successfully light both torches you will enter a room with three clamshell-like creature in it. These little guys are tough. You will have to smash them with the Megaton Hammer. When they are all defeated a chest will appear. There will be a small key inside.

Exit this area and return to the main room where you have access to three floor is. Walk over to the corridor that has a dead end. Bomb the floor here, this will reveal a pool of water. Put on the Iron Boots and enter the water. You will enter a corridor with a another clamshell in it. Shoot the clamshell with the hookshot when it is open. Continue further and you will come to a dead end.

Take off the Iron Boots and float to the surface you will be in a room with a switch, two blue spiderlike enemies and a Dragon Head Statue. Step on the switch and the water level will rise a bit. There will be a barred area with a Gold Skulltula and some pots in it. Smash the front of the bars with the Megaton Hammer and you will trigger a switch to open the bars. Kill the spider and get the stuff. Exit this area and go back out into the main room.

You will notice that there is a small platform that is in front of a block that is sealing up the passageway. Push the block as far as it will go until it falls off the edge. Now, fall down the water hole (with Iron Boots) and continue down the short corridor. Take off the Iron Boots and enter a room with a switch a pit with water flowing out of an octagonal hole at the bottom. Across from the pit is a door and a blue-spider enemy (tektite?) If you hit the switch it will cause the water to shoot higher. Hit the switch and jump into the stream of water to get to the other side of the pit. You might want to kill the enemy first so you don't get booted off of the ledge. Once you make it to the ledge enter into the next room.

In the next area there will be a room with water moving in a whirlpool fashion and a dragon head with a switch in his mouth. Use the Iron Boots to sink to the elevated bricks under the water. Shoot the switch with the Hookshot. Take off the Iron Boots and float over to the opened passageway. Put the Iron Boots back on and continue further. There will be two clamshells in your way so you will have to take them out with the Hookshot. Once the gate closes, take off the Iron Boots and float to the surface.

You will now be in a room with a chest containing a small key in it and a switch. Open the chest, then hit the switch to reopen the underwater passage. Put the Iron Boots back on and continue back to main large room with all the doors etc.. You should now have 2 keys in your posession.

Go to the only locked door you can reach in the center of the big room. Once your inside use the Hookshot to grapple to the higher ledge. You will see a triforce symbol. Play Zelda's Lulliby in order to raise the water. You'll notice that the brown blocks float. Remember this. Once the water raises jump over to the only available ledge and open the door. Once you exit the door it will seal itself. To reopen it you just have to align the lit torch with the unlit torch and fire an arrow at it.

Find the platform at the second level with the locked door near it. Open the locked door and you will be in a room with a stream of water in the center and another switch. Stand on top of the stream of water and shoot the switch with an arrow. This will cause the stream to rise. Once your up to the level of the next room, get off. Open the door and you will emerge right next to the uppermost Triforce Plaque. Do not raise the water, but make a note of the path you took to get to this spot.

Now go back into the chamber in the middle of the big room. Underneath where the brown block was will be a hole. Use the Iron Boots to fall into the hole. You will end up going to a room with a switch and a sealed grate overhead. Hit the switch to unseal the grate and a bunch of enemies will fall down. Kill these and a second sealed grate will open just above the switch. If you float up to the surface of the opening where the enemies came from then you will find a chest with a small key in it. If you float to the surface of the other opening (the one above the switch) you will find nothing.

Return back to the main room that you came from with the spikes on the floor. Exit this area back into the main big Room of the Temple. Now go back to the corridor on the first level (now underwater) that you went to get the map from float to the surface of this area (by the door with the three torches, underwater) This will give you access to the ledge with the crack in the wall that you couldn't do anything about before. Blow a hole in the crack with a bomb. Inside the room you will discover a chest with a small key in it. (You should now have two keys)

Make your way back to the highest Triforce Plaque and raise the water to its highest level. Now, enter the locked door at the west end of the main room. You will now be in a room with a waterfall, and some moving platforms with Hookshot recepticles on them. While your standing on the first moving platform shoot at the moving platforms on the other side with the Hookshot. There is also a Gold Skulltula on the wall in this room. Once you get on the platform, jump to the stationary platform. Now, Hookshot to a higher moving platform, and keep hookshoting to higher platforms until you can hookshot to the top and be on steady ground. There will be another locked door.

Once you open the door you will be in a room that is half filled with water and has a bunch of dragon heads on pedistals with a red switch in the middle. When you hit the switch the water level will rise AND the Dragon Heads will rise. There are Hookshot recepticles on the Dragon Heads. Hookshot to the first platform. Shoot the switch with an arrow. Hookshot to the next ledge. Climb over the Dragon Head. Shoot the switch again. Hookshot to the next ledge. Shoot the switch. Stand on the Dragon Head. Shoot the switch again. The Dragon Head will raise you to the next ledge.

You will now be in a corridor with two blue spiders, a sucker-guy ( you remember the thing that tried to take your shield and clothes in the Fire Temple.) and some spikes blocking the way. There is a hookshot recepticle on the ceiling so you can Hookshot over the spikes. Remember, to kill the sucker thing you must hit it with the Megaton Hammer then slash it with your sword.

You will now be in a large room with a lake in it, a tree in the center, and another door at the other end. If you approach the tree you will encounter a Shadow Link. (Same type thing from the end of Zelda II, another Miyamoto game) The more time you hit him the darker he gets. This guy is real tough. Lock on and use your shield when needed. Make sure you have faries in resurve. After you defeat Yourself the door to the room containing the chest with the Longshot will be opened. The Longshot is a kind of Super Hookshot that can extend extremely far. In this room there is a block in the floor that has a sun symbol on it. Stand behind the block and play the song of time. The block will disappear.

After you fall in the hole left after removing the block. You will be in a cavern with a river and vortices in it. It's easiest to swim around the vortices. Make sure to kill the Gold Skulltula in this area. You will see in on the wall by a vortex. Shoot it with the Longshot. When you get to the end of the cavern you will reach a ledge with two pots on it. Get the fairy and the arrows. Now swim to the little ledge across from the eye switch. Now shoot the Eye Switch and Longshot to the treasure chest. you will get a small key. If you continue down the corridor from the treasure chest you will be back in the room with the square whirlpool and the dragon head with a switch in his mouth.

Now that you have the Longshot lower the water level back down to half way. You should know what room to go to in order to do this and how. Remember you will first have to lower the water enterely before you can lower it half way. After you lower it half way make sure to kill the Gold Skulltula on the wall in the center chamber of the main room (The same one as the Triforce Plaque to lower the water half way) .

With the water at half way go to the trigger eye on the wall under a barred passage in the main room. Shoot the trigger eye with an arrow and Longshot over to the recepticle on the other side of the retracted bars. Once you're inside push the block out of the way and get the chest with the small key in it. On the other side Longshot up to the ledge and you will at a corridor that leads to the main room again. Now go back and lower the water again to its lowest level. (This is probably getting annoying by now)

Now on the lowest level, (1F on the map) go into the watery corridor that lead to the room with the row of spikes and a Hookshot recepticle over a locked door that you could not reach before. Once you open the door you will be in a room with a pool of water, some rocks falling into the water and being sucked down a drain(?) and six of the blue spiders. I didn't see what the big deal was with this room. Just kill the spiders, swim across and open the door.

You will now be on a balcony overlooking a room with shreiking fish like things in the water. From the balcony shoot them with the Longshot. There will be a switch that needs to be weighed down with something. There is also a crack in the wall. Blow up the wall in this spot and there will be a corridor that leads to a block. On the other side of the room on that side of the wall there will be an area to blow up. This leads to the other side of the block. Push the block as far as it will go then pull it the rest of the way out, then go back around and push it onto the switch. The water level will raise. Now climb the stairs and enter the door. You will now be in a room a switch, a pit with three streams of water in it, and a door at the other end. Step on the switch and before the time runs out walk across the streams of water to the other side.

You will now be in an chamber adjacent to the room with all the whirlpools and rocks falling into it. You will see a big rock rolling past the opening. There is a Gold Skulltula on the wall. Kill it, put on the Iron Boots and sink to the bottom of the chamber. You will encounter a Clam Shell, kill it with the Longshot and take off the Iron Boots (I'll bet you were as sick as I was at opening and closing the Equipment Screen by now.) Open the locked door. You will now be in the room with the chest containing the Boss Key in it.

Now make your way back up to the top floor where the door to the Boss' Room is and open the door. In the corridor before the Boss' Room there will be three spiked blade traps moving back and forth on a graded slope. Walk up the left or right side to avoid being hit.

DEFEATING MORPHA

Lock on with "Z" Stay away from its core or nucleus when it is moving. When it turns into its Ameobic form do not approach it but rather shoot it with the Longshot (while locked on) and slash at the core when it's on land. It's easiest to grapple the nucleus when it is not moving. After about four hits it will start to make more than one ameoba. Just keep your distance. The most important thing is to keep your lock on. Stay out of the water! You will suffer the consequences if you fall in. After about 10 hits with your sword Morpha will be history.

You will be teleported to the Chamber of Sages where (you guessed it...) Ruto will be waiting. She will give you the Water Medallion. "If you see Shiek give him my thanks." (So Sheik's a guy, for all those who thought he might be a girl, ...or is he (heh, heh) )

You will teleport to the Island with the triforce symbol on it in Lake Hylia. The water will rise back to normal. Sheik will be waiting for you. He congradulates you on fixing everything then makes one of his classic You-Didn't-See-Me exits.

GERUDO VALLEY

Use the Epona to jump across the broken bridge in Gerudo Valley.

Use the Megaton Hammer to break the boulders across from the Carpenter's Tent and find a chest with 50 rupees in it.

There is a Gold Skulltula under a natural rock-arch at night.

GERUDO'S FORTRESS

When the guards catch you you will be thrown in a large cell. Use the hookshot to get to the wooden ledge.

You can shoot the Gerudo Girls with an arrow to stun them.

Play the Archery Game and score 1000 points to get a Heart Container Piece.

If you have a Rumble Pak the controller will vibrate next to a set of boxes in front of the Fortress. Play the Song of Storms to make a hole appear. There will be a Fairy Fountain inside.

THE THIEVES HIDEOUT

In the first entrance past the wooden ledge is a corridor and then a room with an imprisoned carpenter in it. Talk to the carpenter, then a theif woman will appear. To defeat her just lock on with "Z" and keep slashing. If you move the control stick in a circle Link will use a spin attack without using Magic. Defend using the shield. Ahh, fencing at its best. If you don't feel like getting up close and personal with these bitches then shoot 'em with the bow. After she is defeated pick up the key and unlock the carpenter. He will tell you that the all women group of thieves has captured all the carpenters.

Once you go out the other entrance you will be outside the fortress behind the two guards standing watch. If you go in the entrance to your right there will be a corridor that goes to the right. If you keep going right past the other entrance you will run in to a theif-girl and she will put you back in the cell. Turn left before the right turn. You will be outside again.

Keep going straight on the ledge, turn right (Link's Right) and go in the entrance. You will find another room with a locked-up carpenter in it. Use the bow while outside to stun all the thief girls patroling the Fortress. This will give you access to all the entrances to the palaces.

Use the hookshot to gain access to areas that seem to be obstructed or link is unable to climb over. You will find a purple 50 rupee in the box in the the lookout post over the room where you originally thrown into.

You can shoot the skull heads on the walls to reveal items like rupees and arrows.

To get to the fourth carpenter take the following course at night (that's when I did it, so I didn't test it during the day). Drop down from the ledge. Turn left. Exit Room. Turn right. Inside corridor, turn right at next opening. Continue past the corner and enter doorway. Exit, then turn right. Shoot the two girls in the room with the boiling pot. Go up the ramp on the other side of the room. Turn left (your left, not Link's), fall down to the lower level and enter the door below. This will lead to where the fourth carpenter is.

Once you find the fourth carpenter you will talk to a Gerudo who congradulates you on your ability to elude their capture. She will give you Gerudo's Membership Card.

HAUNTED WASTELAND

To cross the river of shifting sand, use the Longshot to grapple to the other crate across the sand.

Follow the red flags to a pedistal with an inscription about having the eye of truth. This is synonymous with the Lens of Truth. Use the lens of Truth to see the hidden ghost. Follow the ghost to the Desert Colossus.

DESERT COLOSSUS

When you enter the Spirit Temple you will not be able to do anything as an adult. After you exit the spirit temple you will enconter Sheik. Past, present, future... The Master Sword is a ship with which you can sail upstream and downstream though time's river...The port for that ship is in the temple of time... To restore the Desert Colossus and enter the Spirit Temple, you must travel back through time's flow... He will teach you the Requiem of Spirit. Use it come back to the desert at any time. Take note of the owl, he's watching you.

In this region you will find a a crack in the wall by two palm trees. There is the Great Fairy of Magic inside. She will give you Nayru's Love. (Bet, you want to kiss me for this one...)

THE SPIRIT TEMPLE

You must travel back in time in order to enter the Spirit Temple. Once you are a kid again, by putting the Master Sword back into the stone, you can play the Requiem of Spirit to warp to the Spirit Temple.

Enter the Spirit Temple and you will encounter Nabooru, a Gerudo lone wolf theif. When she asks you what you are doing at the Spirit Temple, respond, "Nothing Really," She will then ask you if you are in with Ganondorf. Respond, "I hate Ganondorf." She will introduce herself and say that she is completly different that Ganondorf. She will tell you that the Gerudo race only consists of women, and that Only one man is born every hundred years. (Damn, this is going to get people talking. I'll probably make a discussion for The Odyssey of Hyrule on how it is possible to have a race of only women, and No men, except ganon. Are they all gay or are they all just his herem? Wow.) (Another gaming note, Nabooru was a city in Zelda II) She will say that thier law states that the Lone Male is to become king of the Gerudo's but she will never bow to such an evil man. She will ask you your name and ask you to crawl through a hole and get the treasure inside. She says that inside is a treasure called the Silver Gauntlets, that allow you to push and pull very heavy things. She says you can't use them and that ganon and his minions are using the Spirit Temple as a Hideout. She wants to use the Silver Gauntlets to steal all the treasure and damage their plans.

Enter though the crawlspace. You will be in a room with a statue, a moving blade trap, and fire-bats. Kill all the enemies. Lock on to the statue, and stun it with the Boomerang, then slash it with the sword. Two doors will unseal.

In one room there will be a Staffos, a big skull with green flames, and switch behind a chain-link wall. Kill the staffos and the skull, then, with the boomerang in hand, position yourself so that on the boomerang's return it will clip the switch. When you successfully trigger the switch the chainlink wall will fall and create a bridge over the chasm that was blocking your way.

In the next room, you will encounter a switch, some pots on a bridge, a strange fire enemy (Anubis according to Navi) While avoiding the rotating spiked trap, make your way over the bridge. Anubis will duplicate your movement in the opposite direction. Go all the way you can to the left ledge and trigger the switch with your slingshot. It will cause flames to ignite and incinerate the Anubis. The sealed door will then open.

In the next room you will find a chest with a small key in it, and five silver rupees. When you collect all the rupees the center panel of the chain-link wall will fall creating a bridge to the other ledge. Watch out for the claw that drops from the ceiling.

Once you exit this area you will be in the room that had the statue and the rotating blade trap in it. (Not the Anubis room) Enter the crawlspace between the two doors and you will encounter a locked door. Open the door and you will now be in a chamber with a climbable wall and a bunch of spiders on that wall. Kill the regular spiders on the climbable wall, then kill the Gold Skulltula on the other side. Climb the wall and you will be in a chamber with spiders on the wall and a sun symbol in the middle of the room. When you kill the spiders a Lizalfos will appear. Lock on, hit it with the boomerang, and slash it until its defeated. You'll notice that there is a crack in the wall with light shining though, and a switch on a ledge. When you shoot the switch with your Slingshot a chest will fall. It contains Bombchu. Use the Bombchu to open the crack in the wall. This will cause the sun to shine through onto the sun symbol on the ground. The sealed door will open.

Beyond the door you will be in a large room with a big statue of a pharoh or goddess, and some stairs. Follow the stairs up to the top where the flame is. Light a Deku Stick and jump off the ledge to torches in front of the statue. Light the torches and a Chest containing the map will appear. There is also a switch in this room. Push the statue off the ledge and onto the switch to keep it on. It will open up a sealed door at the top of the stairs.

This will lead to an area with blade traps on the floor and laser eyes on pedistals. There will also be five silver rupees. Remember to destroy the laser eye statues you have to throw a bomb at them. After you collect the five silver rupees a torch will light. You will find four blocks in this room. One has a sun on it. Move the block with the sun on it to the sunlight beaming in from a window. This will cause the sealed door to open. Light all the torches and a chest containing a small key will appear.

You will now be in a corridor with many torches on the walls and a locked door at the end. There is a Gold Skulltula just above the door you just came out of. Open the locked door.

You will find an Iron Knuckle in the next room. Slash it to wake it up. Your best bet with this enemy is to bait it by getting close, then when it tries to chop you with the axe, strike it when it is vulnerable.

After the Iron Knuckle is defeated you will leave the Temple and be outside in front of the Owl from the beginning of the game. The Owl tells you that there are two witches in the Temple. In order to destroy them you will have to turn their own magic against them. You will see Nabooru. but she is being sucked into a dark vortex. The two witches fly into the temple.

Now, at this point in the game, you might be thinking, oh, it's obvious, come back to the Spirit Temple as an adult and finish it. Well...That's what Video Gamer X thought until he entered a room (as adult Link) and couldn't get to a silver rupee no matter what was tried. Moving the blue block with the Song of Time did nothing except reveal a Gold Skulltula. The Longshot didn't work, trying to stop the rocks then jumping on them didn't work, playing the Song of Storms to supposedly fill the chamber with water didn't work, trying all my spells didn't work, and just about anything I tried, failed. I was stumped. Yep, Video Gamer X hit an impass. So I left, and did some wandering then arrived at Kakariko.

KAKARIKO (Later On)

If you return to Kakariko Village at this time you will encounter the entire city engulfed in flames. You will see Sheik in front of the well. He tells you to stand back and then starts flying through the air. Some kind of dark force moves all over the city and up the hill then attacks you. You wake up and Shiek talks to you. It is raining. He says that the Evil Shadow Spirit has been released. He says that Impa sealed the Shadow Spirit at the bottom of the well... Apparently, the force of evil broke out of the well and escaped into the world. He will tell you that Impa has gone to the Shadow Temple to seal it again. He will tell you that Impa is one of the six sages. (Go figure...) He says that there is an entrance to the Shadow Temple beneath the graveyard. He teaches you the Nocturne of Shadow.

THE SHADOW TEMPLE

Play the Nocturne of Shadow to teleport to the triforce in front of the Shadow Temple. It is located at the very back of the graveyard. (Bet you never thought to look up there)

In the first room you will be in an circular area with many unlit torches, cuniform writing, and a pedistal in the center. (Do you see a smily face in the pedistal? I did. Maybe its there on purpose, or maybe not.) While standing on the pedistal use Din's Fire to light all the torches. (You will notice that this level has a real Doom or Quake feel to it)

Use the Lens of Truth to see the passageways in the Shadow Temple. Make you way to the room with the Griffin on a movable pedistal, and a circle of skulls on pedistals. There is an invisible passageway to another area of invisible skull walls and passage ways (Man, if this doesn't remind me of a Doom II Level). Using the Lens of Truth you will eventually discover a door that leads to that same big zombie guy with all the arms you fought when you were at the bottom of the well. He's pretty easy, I don't think I lost much life on this guy. After you beat him, you will receive the Hover Boots. While your in the corridors you will find doorways that lead to rooms where you get the Compass and Map. Just kill all the enemies in the rooms in order to make the chest appear.

Now, remember that damn silver rupee? I had a hunch that I could use the hover boots to get it, and yep it worked.

THE SPIRIT TEMPLE (Part II)

Go back to the Spirit Temple, with the Hover Boots and return to that room. You can get that damn rupee. It will open a door that leads to a room with a chest containing a small key in it. There is also a clothes and shield sucker-thing in here. You should know how to beat it by now so I won't go into details.

Now make your way back to the room with the laser eye and the switch on the ceiling. Open the Locked Door.

You will now be in a hallway with another sucker thing. Past here is a section that leads to a room with the sun shining in on a mirror and a few sun symbols. In this room there will be an invisible enemy called a "Floormaster" (it's another big claw enemy) You can hit it with the Megaton Hammer, then slash it with the sword, and finally taking out the little hands before they grow big again. You will have to use the Lens of Truth to see this enemy. When it is killed move to the snake mirror and move it. If you aim it at the first sun a chest will fall. Inside you will find a recovery heart. Keep doing this to reveal the chests. The second chest is a trap. The third sun opens the door. The fourth well...(I'll let it be a surprise, heh, heh.)

Once you open the door you will be back in the big room with the great pharoh goddess statue. Climb the stairs. Face the Goddess. You will notice that there is a Triforce Symbol on her hand. Now, put on the Hover Boots and float over to her hand. Take off the Hover Boots. Play Zelda's Lulliby while standing on the symbol. A chest will fall into her other hand. Longshot over to the other chest. It may seem far, but you'll make it. You will find a small key inside.

You will have to make your way back to the ledge where the locked door was. When you open the locked door, the corridor will lead to a room with two of those "Anubis" things and a laser eye. Blow up the Laser Eye. Don't even screw with the switch, just shoot the Anubi with a fire arrow. When you kill all the enemies the door will unseal.

The next room will have four statues standing around a switch, a beam of light entering the room, and a sun symbol in the shadows. Anger the statues and push the switch down, getting one of the statues to stomp on it and enter the door. This will lead to a hallway, then a room with an Iron Knuckle in it. Beating this guy as Adult Link will be a piece of cake. After he's gone go outside and get the Mirror Shield. (It looks real cool, so equip it immediately.)

Now go back to the room with the four statues, and beam of light, and the sun symbol on the wall. Use the mirror shield to reflect the rays onto the sun symbol. The door will unseal. Enter the next room and get the Small Key.

Go back to the room where the Anubi and the Laser Eye was and unlock the door.

You will now be a room with two Laser Eyes and a moving climbable wall. Be sure to shoot the spider on the wall before you climb. Once you get to the top beware of Laser Eyes.

From here you will enter an area with two doors, one is sealed has a Triforce Symbol in front of it, and the other is not sealed. Play Zelda's Lulliby in front of the sealed door to open it.

Once you open the door you will be in a room with fire-leeches flames surrounding the Boss Key chest, and fake doors on the wall. Use the Megaton Hammer to kill the fake doors. Behind one you will find a trigger eye. Shoot the trigger eye and another clear block will appear. Use the Longshot to grapple to the recepticle on the ceiling and jump to the switch on the other clear block. The flames will go down and you can get the Boss Key.

Now move back to the other free door. In the next room you will encounter a switch behind some bars, a big mirror, and chains hanging from the ceiling. Hit the switch and open the door.

In the next room you will have to defeat a Lizilfos and some skull heads. Then blow a hole in the wall to the left of the Snake-Mirror casting a beam of light. Now, turn the mirror so that the beam hits the other mirror. Adjust the other mirror to shine the light into the first room. Now go into the first room and shine the light on the sun symbol with the Mirror Shield. The Chains will lower you into the room with the big pharoh goddess statue in it.

Now if you shine the light onto the face of the statue, it will start to fall apart and reveal a circular opening. Use the Longshot to grapple to the opening and you will be at the door to the Boss' Room.

In the next room you will encounter the two witches. They will summon their minion, another tougher Iron Knuckle. Do not get Hit or you will suffer major consequences. It will take off four or eight hearts. Fully charged spin attacks work good because you can stay out of the way of his axe and still deal some damage.

When you defeat the Iron Knuckle he will fall apart and in his place Nabooru will appear. The witches will then appear and zap Nabooru. The door will open.

In the next room you will find an elevated section that you will find a place to climb up onto. You will encounter the Sorceress Sisters Twinrova

DEFEATING TWINROVA

Use the Mirror Shield to reflect their magic blast back on them. You can reflect one's magic onto the other, but it's rather difficult. Aftey they have been hit several times they will merge into one super witch. Use the Mirror Shield to absorb their attacks. Three aborbtions will cause it to redirect their own magic back at them. When the big witch falls to the ground slash at her with the sword. When you defeat them you will get a Heart Container Piece and be teleported to the Chamber of Sages.

You will encounter Nabooru who is the Sage of Spirit. She will thank you and say that she had been brainwashed by the witches and Ganondorf to do evil will. She gives you the Spirit Medallion. "If only I knew you would become such a handsome man... If only I had kept that promise..."

THE SHADOW TEMPLE (Part II)

Now, go back to the Shadow Temple and finish it. If you didn't cross the gap between the ledge and the mouth with tounge entrance then do so with the Hover Boots. There will be a room where you have to collect five silver rupees while avoiding a scythe. Collect the Compass and a small key. In the room where the Laser Eye is blow up the wall directly in front of the entrance and open the locked door.

Now follow the corridor past the spiders and beyond the guillitines. Watch out for the falling hand. Make your way to the platform with the Staffos on it. Kill it then put on the hover boots and walk onto the moving platform. Now walk over to the area where the silver rupees are. Collect all the rupees and the door will open.

You will now be in a room with some falling spiked traps. Use the Lens of Truth to find a hidden block. Move the block to protect yourself from being smashed. You will find a Gold Skulltula in this area. Push the block half of the way then pull it the rest of the way. Now climb the block. Hit the switch and a chest will fall. It contains all of 5 rupees. In another chest you will find a small key.

Now go back to the room with the guillitines and the Laser Eye. Use the Lens of Truth to see the invisible platforms and make your way to the locked door. Once you open the door you will be in a room with invisible spikes and zombies walking around. Kill the zombies and a chest will appear, it will contain five rupees. Collect all the silver rupees and the sealed door will open. Use the hookshot, and The Lens of Truth to obtain all the rupees.

In the next room you will find a big skull with blue flames coming out of its head and some bats. Kill the bats to unseal the door. You will find a Gold Skulltula behind the big skull. Throw a bomb into the big skull to reveal a small key. Now go back to the invisible spikes and silver rupee room. Open the locked door.

Down the corridor you will find an area with a blowing fan. Put on the Iron Boots to avoid being blown backwards. Shoot the fake eye switch with an arrow. In the next room you will find two zombies, kill them and you will find arrows in a chest. If you notice with the Lens of Truth that there is a hidden doorway in the section near the fake eye switch. Use the Hover Boots to get to it. Kill the zombies inside the room and get the chest. Now blow up the pile of debris in the corner and get the chest containing a small key. Open the locked door.

You will now be in a room with a boat and a block that you can push. Push the block up to the ladder and climb the ladder. Get onto the boat and play Zelda's Lulliby on the triforce symbol. Ride the boat to the next area. While your are enjoying your cruise you will be attacked by a Staffos. If you enter a room you will encounter more Floormaster hands. Use the Lens of Truth to see the invisible obstructions. In one of the room adjacent to this one you will find a Floormaster and a chest containing a small key. You will also find a room adjacent to the floormaster room with three big skull pots rotating on a turntable. You will find a Gold Skulltula in this area. If you blow up the big pots you will find items like bombs and rupees. In another room adjacent to the floormaster room you will find two moving walls with spikes. Use Din's Fire to destroy the wall. You will find a chest containing the boss key inside.

Go back to the area where the boat docked. Shoot the bombs in front of the statue to make it fall and create a bridge. Open the locked door. Use the Hover Boots and the Lens of Truth to get to the platforms. Open the door to the Boss' Room. You will encounter the Shadow Beast Bongo Bongo

DEFEATING BONGO BONGO

It will try to crush you with it's hands. You will have to use the Lens of Truth to see it. You can shoot the hands with your arrows. Lock on to the hands and shoot an arrow at them. You will have difficulty hitting the hands if they are pounding the drum. After both hands turn blue, shoot the eye. When it is down, slash at it with your sword. Keep doing this and you will prevail.

You will be teleported to the Chamber of Sages. Impa will be the sage of Shadow. She will describe that the Sheikah have served the royalty of Hyrule from generation to generation, but when Ganondorf attacked seven years ago the Castle surrendered in a short time. He was looking for one of the Keys to the Sacred Realm, The Ocarina of Time. She took Zelda out of his reach. She says that Zelda is safe. She describes that you will soon meet princess Zelda. According to her that is when the six sages will seal the Evil King and return piece to Hyrule. She gives you the Shadow Medallion. "Please look out for the Princess!"

Rauru will appear. He will say that the six sages have awakened. He says that he will show you the one that was waiting for you at the Temple of TIme.
