Jardel Jar’axel

... a young man clad in simple clothes ran through the citystreets. In his hands he carried a loaf of bread and a jewel encrusted flaskbearing a liquid. Once he reached one of the many foresaken dark alleys,he crouched down and rested. Chest heaving from the chase he was satisfiedto have escaped the nobles district once more. His whole life he had been roaming the streets and stealing from the rich just to survive. Hastily he bit into the bread and chewed the morsels while gulfing down the wine hehad aqcuired. Suddenly his musceles convulsed. His eyes bulged outof their soccets as saliva and foam ushered from the corner of his mouth. With a clatter the wine flask tumbled to the ground, soiling the dirtin a blood red stain of spilt wine. His body went rigid and after a short struggle the man, glassy eyes staring at the opposite wall of the alley, slipped into nothingness, his corpse remaining unseen to many in the empty dangerous section of the city. Was this to be the end of Jardel the scoundrel ...

... seemingly endlessly Jardels etheral soul traversed the unknown fields

... misty, cold and dark. Wandering around he met manyunfortunate souls searching, asking, weeping, all in a similar situation he was in, not knowing where they were. Under one dead barren tree he approached stood a man, bold and charismatic. He was different than all of the souls floating around. He was alive and his name was Heimdall! Awesome power emanated from his being and filtered through Jardels etheral state, filling his void spirit with hope and wisdom. This was his first meeting with the diety Heimdall. Seeing the true value of his soul, the god decided to grant young Jardel a second chance in life and to live by his ideals and laws. He was given back his life and the poison in his corpse was burned out of the veins and arteries. He was instructed to constantly speak of the name Heimdall to all, for through speaking his name the diety gained power, power which in turn he relinquished to his priests and followers in form of spells.

Through prayer and a seeing the high priest of Heimdall was intructed to take in this boy who was directed to the main church by godly eyes. Many years passed as he was taught and trained, being the whole pride of the church as chosen one of Heimdall. Great deeds were expected from him in time. After finishing his scholarly benediction, his life continued for many years in the pursuit of single adventures in bringing his services to the poor as well as the needy. In this time the holy warrior Jardel Jar’axel was formed and evolved, as he rallied many believers to hisfaith.

In time his hair receded, leaving him now in the age of the late 30’s with but a shiny bald head. Only his chin sported a go-tee of black hair with a vertical streak of silver. Dangling in his left earlobe hung a lucky charm and his bright blue eyes emanated a sense of warmth and compassion to all who looked upon him. Any adventurer who journeyed with him would certainly attest his fair judgement and compassion unto the weak. Seldomly he was seen to smile or let alone laugh in his baritone voice. Primary strengths were seen in his supporting leadership skills and prowess with a sword and shield, especially after gaining his ungodly strength. Jardel, standing well over 6’, started his latest adventure wearing shiny almost white-hued plate-mail armor. Covering it was a white ceremonial toga, with the herald of Heimdall. This herald, a curved horn, also adorned his trusted shiny v-shaped medium shield. In his backpack various useful items were stored away and his long sword and dagger hung sheathed in their scabbards at his waist. His waist belt that fastened the toga also held a square leather pack, his apothecary, and a chain with his silver cross. His recently earned helm was known to shine in utter brilliance onmore than one occasion. Always accompanying him on his voyages was his trusted warhorse named Aistlin. This proud stallion was a mirror projection of Jardel, also wearing a black coat of hair with a vertical streak of silver at its chest.

Now Jardel Jar’axel was founding member to the ‘Company of the Seven’, whose name he had derived, and was in pursuit of an important personal as well as a monumental royal quest, both to save the realms from Asmodeus and his devious minions.
