NOBODY'S    SANE,    SO,    WHY    BOTHER?

"Why bother?", you say, regarding all of this talk of World Peace; Because; All of the world can benefit from it. You can't hold up the World on Your shoulders, alone; that's not the point. The point is, that, every good thing that you do, every day, even making one or two people smile; having at least one person comment on the Happiness you brought to them, even for one day; it's all of those smaller things that gradually build up to World Peace. People will start thinking. They will start seeing the JOY in you; the HAPPINESS; and, just maybe, they will start wanting to BE like you!

With each year that passes, the incidents of terrorism and hatred among humankind is growing in frequency and intensity. People live side by side, and, never know who their neighbors are. In this day and time, we tend to live in fear of one another. Try passing on a smile to someone on the street; take an extra minute to help someone by holding the door for them; share a joke with someone - little things that you do for people can actually change their whole outlook on the day; and, it can change your's, too!

THIS IS WHY YOU SHOULD BOTHER WITH ALL OF THIS TALK OF PEACE!

REASONS TO BOTHER WITH IT ALL...

"The land...it is a mother; a living thing to us that produces food and other living things. You cannot deny anyone from sharing it...I pray for all living things to go on." ~ Mina Lansa, Hopi Tribe

"A good warrior is never violent.A good fighter is never offensive. A great victor defeats his opponent, but not by challenging him. A great commander is humble. This is called the power of non-contention. This is also called making use of the effort of others. To follow this is to follow the pattern of the subtle law of the universe." ~ chapter sixty-eight of the Tao Teh Ching

"Peace...comes within the souls of men when they realize their relationship, their oneness, with the universe and all it's powers, and when they realize that at the center of the Universe dwells Wakan-tanka, and that this center dwells everywhere, it is within each of us." ~ Black Elk, Oglala Lakota Tribe

"No pain should be caused to any created being or thing." ~ Devikalottara Agama, from Hindu scriptures

"Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." ~ Hebrews 13:2,the Holy Bible

This beautiful passage was taken from "The Road Less Traveled", by M.Scott Peck, M.D....

"But let there be spaces in your togetherness,
And let the winds of the heavens dance between you

Love one another, but make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf
Sing and dance together and be joyous,
but let each of you be alone,
Even as the strings of a lute are alone
Though they quiver with the same music.

Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping.
For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.
And stand together yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not
In each other's shadow."
