About Jim Davis-the creator of Garfield

I was born July 28, 1945 in Marion, Indaina.I was proptly dropped on my head, explaining my life long desire to become a cartoonist. I was asthmatic as a child and spent alot of time in bed. Mom used to shove a pencil and paper in my hand urging me to draw to entertain myself. Fortunately my art and writing style improved over the years. Garfield began syndication with only 41 papers on June 19, 1978. His faithful following of cat and pasta addicts has grown into millions, and the tubby-tabby now appears in over 2500 newspapers worldwide!
