M57-The Ring Nebula

This is M57-the Ring Nebula-in the constellation Lyra.

This was scanned from a 3x5 print. On the print it was barely discernable as a ring. I cropped it and blew it up. The HP Photosmart has a fixed resolution of 300dpi. Considering that this was scanned from a print made from a negative and the negative wasn't that good (evidenced by the streaks around the stars)to begin with, I thought it translated pretty well to the monitor.

This is another shot I hope to redo with the 12.5" Newtonian.
