The Best of Con Funk Shun Volumes 1+2

By Maximillian Muhammad

Mid-tempo and laid back vibes smooth as wine and a lock between Earth, Wind and Fire and the Ohio Players sounds doesn't hurt matters before Frankie Beverly and Maze their was Con Funk Shun. "FFun", "Too Tight", "Got To Be Enough", "Ms. Got The Body", "Chase Me", "Electric Lady", and smooth cuts like "Love's Train", "By your Side", "Make it Last", "Juicy",. Production was key working with Skip Scarborough(Earth, Wind & Fire), Maurice Starr(New Edition, New Kids on the block)and Eumir Deodato also worked with Earth, Wind & fire. but the Group wasn't a mere stand by they could play and players they have such as the versatile Michael Cooper(who defense a groove or slow-jam like his name sake for the La. Lakers) on Vocals Guitars, and Boards Felton pilate11 (who went on to work with M.C. Hammer) on Trombone, and Lead Axe Cedric Martin on Bass, Paul Harrell, and Karl Fuller handling Trumpets and Sax as well as Percussion respectably. Louis Mccall on Drums and Percussion and Danny Thomas on all types of Keys and Boards. despite familiar Production they still managed to have there own groove. and that's a train many nowadays should try to Board.
