Here are the latest details about the Jefferson State Mid-Winter
Invitational Tournament:

Date:          Friday, January 16, 1998

Location:      Scrushy Campus of Jefferson State
               (That's about 100 yards east of the intersection of
               Valleydale Road and Caldwell Mill Road in north Shelby
               county.  And that intersection is about two miles east
               of the Valleydale Road exit on I-65.  There's a link to
               a map just below.)

Format:        Eight-team Round Robin
               24 toss-up/bonus questions per round
               Bounce-Back Bonuses
               Substitutions between rounds and half-way through each
                   round

Awards:        Awards to top four finishers.

Schedule:      Sign-in from 8:00 AM to 8:30 AM
               Welcome from 8:30 AM to 8:50 AM
               Rounds from 8:50 AM to approximately 1:00 PM
               Awards from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM

Entry Fee:     $50.00 per team

Light refreshments (chips, soft drinks, and other teen-age food will
be served throughout the day in the break-room).

As of 1:00 PM on November 19, 1997, the following teams have
indicated that they will be participating:

(If your school is listed as an alternate, you will know by December 
 15 if a vacancy in the eight-team field has developed.  Please note 
 that schools are listed in the order in which they responded to the 
 invitation letter.  Any school which has applied but which has not yet
 paid the application fee will be moved down to alternate status on 
 December 15, 1997.)
