INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS


STEP ONE Lower spare tire for access to the winch mechanism and frame cross-member. Locate the 1/2" wide slot in the cross-member that extends forward to the white plastic winch cable guide bushing.


STEP TWO Use the provided 3/8" hex head bolt, lock nut and two flat washers to attach the U-bracket to the cross-member. Position the U-bracket under the slot in the cross-member with hex head bolt and flat washer upward through the mounting hole in the bracket. Install the lock nut and second flat washer over the end of the threaded end of the bolt. Align U-bracket as shown and tighten lock nut. Place lock bar through both legs of the U-bracket with the grooved end facing toward the left frame rail. Install crimp-ring retainer in the groove and crimp closed with pliers.

STEP THREE Raise the spare tire while guiding the lower end of lock bar through the lug hole least obstructed by the winch cable retaining plate in the center of the wheel. The lock bar must remain vertical as the spare tire is raised to the full up/stored position.

This Lock Is Designed To Install With The Spare Tire In The Original Factory Position, Valve Stem Down.

SPECIAL BLACK MAX LOCKING INSTRUCTIONS: (1) Remove the key from the lock cylinder.(2) Place the Black Max lock assembly over the end of the locking bar with the bar cover/seal end up. (3)Slide the lock assembly upward until the cover/seal is compressed against the tapered surface of the lug hole. (4)Press in on the "Push To Lock" button with the lock assembly still held firmly against the wheel, to engage the deadbolt lock mechanism with the groove in the locking bar.
