INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
STEP ONE
Lower spare tire for access to winch mechanism mounted in the center section of the frame X-member and locate two stamped 3/4" holes directly behind the winch.

STEP TWO
Place the U-shaped mounting bracket between the back side of the winch and the frame X-member. Position the U-bracket over the left side 3/4" hole as shown on in picture at left. Used the provided 3/8" bolt, lock nut and two flat washers to attach the U-bracket to the frame X-member.
Place the lock bar through the holes in both legs of the U-bracket, with the grooved end facing toward the right side frame rail. Place the crimp-ring retainer in the groove and crimp closed with pliers. |

STEP THREE
Raise the spare tire while allowing the lower end of the lock bar to pass through the lug hole least obstructed by the winch cable retaining plate in the center of the wheel. The lock bar must remain vertical as spare tire is returned to the full up/stored position.
SPECIAL BLACK MAX INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:(1) Remove the key from the lock cylinder. (2)Place the Black Max lock assembly over the end of the locking bar with the bar cover/seal end up. (3)Slide the lock assembly upward until the bar cover/seal is compressed in the tapered surface of the lug hole. (4)Push in on the "Press To Lock" button with the lock assembly still held firmly against the wheel, to engage the dead bolt lock mechanism with the groove in the locking bar.
