INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

STEP ONE Lower spare tire for access to the winch mechanism mounted above the frame cross-member. Locate the threaded ends of three winch mechanism mounting bolts which extend down through the frame cross-member from above. Install the U-bracket over the threaded end of mounting bolt to the rear of winch cable, positioned as shown in the picture. Install the 10mm locknut and flat washer. Tighten the locknut and loosen slightly so that the U-bracket will still rotate on the mounting bolt.

STEP TWO Install the lock bar through the holes in both legs of the U-bracket, with the grooved end facing toward the right side frame rail. Place the crimp-ring retainer in the groove and crimp closed with pliers.

STEP THREE Raise the spare tire while guiding the lower end of lock bar through the lug hole least obstructed by the winch cable retaining plate in the center of the wheel. The lock bar must remain vertical as spare tire is returned to the full up/stored position.

This Lock Is Designed To Install With The Spare Tire In The Orignal Factory Position, Valve Stem Up.

STEP FOUR The PVC bar cover/seal is designed to center and hold the lock firmly against the tapered surface of the lug hole. Hold lock inverted with PVC bar cover/seal end up. Place lock over the end of the lock bar. Slide lock upward against the tapered surface of the lug hole and rotate to engage lock mechanism with the lock bar groove.
